My DTR going under 30mph in a straight line by the guy driving the POS 98 Cirrus that broad sided me today.... Not hurt and car is repairable. Oh yea, he's still alive.

I bet no one would have missed him.

That's just my two cents, and I'm sure we could find some hungry gators down here in Florida.

Actually, I'm glad to know that you kept your cool, but it is fun feeding the gators.

Sorry to hear that. Similar collision happened to me in the beginning of Sept. :mad2: Car is still in the shop but is getting nothing but the best of attention and parts...on his insurance dime.

Man...sometimes what people don't see... I read this thread earlier and was thinking how people in Columbia can be like that... then about an hour ago I was on my way home and a guy ran a red light and tried to turn in front of me and nearly clipped my car.... I followed him a block, he pulled over... I stared at him, he looked sheepish... I did a 180 and drove around the block. About 2 minutes later he was still sitting there in shock to what happened. Glad to hear you are safe. Remember... no matter how much you love the car it's first and foremost job is to keep you in good health from A to B. (or A to A if you like cruising)

Sorry for your bad luck. Many of us have been there...in the body shop and most without injuries..another reason to love these cars..and they come home good as new. I hope yours does, too. Dennis:2thumbs:

Hi folks, appreciate the support! My DTR will need a new left rear door, rear wheel/tire and straightening of the wheel well. I need to wash her today to see if there is damage to the quarter panel / bumper area. Between rain, road construction and farmers bringing in their crops the car is literally filthy. As the brunt of the impact was taken by the door/wheel well I don't think there is any undercarriage or frame damage. Its driveable and she tracks straight, no shimmies or vibrations.
My wife was quite impressed that I did not "flip out". The other guy taking full responsibility and being apologetic probably helped my attitude. That and units from three police agengies responding ASAP to a relatively minor PDAA... They all had to come looky because they knew who's car it was when the complaint was given out. :o

Well the proof is in the final result, but so far I'm very happy with Progressive insurance. My DTR is scheduled to go in the shop Monday afternoon and they've arranged for Enterprise to meet me there with a "comparable" rental vehicle. This worked out nice because their "preferred shop" is my selling dealer which has a very good body shop. After a double wash to get off all the dust, dirt, manure, I noticed that the lower rear fender is pushed in. Adjuster said no problem. I think I'll spend some coin to have her buffed out and de-scratched while its there.

mine pales in comparison.. but i was backing in garage to re-set rear height adjustment while trying to keep an eye on kids, dog and cat and i hear high pitched squeal .........yup i ran left wheel opening against vinyl garage door opening trim........pissed i was and set out to remedy that before doing original task........i got lucky as i got about 98% of the white off , but there is a slight dimple about 12 o clock high in the wheel opening........luckily its not noticeable unless pointed out...........oh well shat happens!!!!!!!!!!
