My 1990 GT rolled 200,000 miles on the way to work this morning. On all accounts it's nearly stock aside from exhaust work and minor repairs (fan, fan clutch, battery, etc.) No major components replaced, i.e. stock engine, trans, rear. Has typical inside issues, window motors acted up, door lock actuators froze, ashtray door doesn't work, but not too shabby.

When I bought it the previous owner who bought it with 100k said he never did the clutch, and the first owner did not tell him it had been done. I have not done it yet either...

Anyway, the car's running like a champ after 200k, I should toss a blower on the 200k motor and see how much longer it runs. :)

For it's 200k b-day it's getting new headlights. (And I'll paint/install the missing side molding per the pic below...the part is in my closet.)

I like this pic though because it hides alot of the blemishes in the paint including the peeling clearcoat on the roof. :D

My honor the 100/100 tradition... I make every effort to make sure my cars roll 100,000 miles at 100 mph.

Uh, for 200,000 I think you'll need that blower!

I had a bit over 200K miles on my 2000 CV and other than the axle thing the car ran perfectly with no oil usage!!:bows:

Like David Morton, I believe in changing fluids often and I guess it paid off with the CV.......BTW, it is still going strong with another 75K on the clock by the new owner!!!

I plan on keeping the MM and fixing stuff that may go bad....until parts become scarce......then pass it on to my daughter so that she may cash in on any future "Collector Value" if that ever happens??:D

With a little luck I'll be as old as Gerald Ford is now when the car is 30 years old!!!

Yup it's a 5spd. :)

Well I got wind I may be getting 2 presents for my car for it's 200k b-day, new headlights is one but I think I'll be going with a set of pony rims too...we shall see I should know sunday. :D

Will have to decide if I want to sell the turbines or store them...

For the 200k b-day, I found a set of ponies! Replaced the turbines with 16" ponies with BFG tires. Still have the turbines, I'll probably hold onto them for a bit...why I don't know.

Anyway, put the ponies on Saturday night and then finished up putting on me new headlights...

It's got a whole new look for 200k!

OMG, it's sharp!

If anyone knows where I can find a Mustang like that, please drop me a line at SergntMac@AOL.com?

I didn't think so.........but she washes my clothes and feeds me(among other things;) ) so I don't argue with her to much

Thanks for the compliments, y'all!

Honestly those pictures do the car VERY GOOD justice...well, TOO MUCH justice maybe. :D

The car needs a repaint. The hood is pretty faded, roof has peeling clear in 2 areas, bumper has some yellow primer showing through, etc.

BUT, paint is about all it does need. The body is very straight, and the underbody told a similar story, even at 200k the torque boxes are in good shape, didn't find any floorpan cracks, etc.

The shop that welded in my subframe connectors even commented that it was in great shape for the age in mileage, even if the paint was faded.

Here's what it looked like when I picked it up, the paint did buff out pretty well but if I keep it long it'll see new paint.
