I'm in Los Angeles (Playa Del Rey, near LAX). Still 100% stock. Holding off on interim mods since I'm leaning toward a Trilogy blower now. VERY interested in Dennis' new header kit! But still bone stock.

I'm in LA. Bone stock, though...other than tinted windows, wheel locks, and new wiper blades.

We use Ed Hanson Muffler Service in San Diego to do all of our work. He has alot of experience and is very nice guy to work with. This would be a good shop for Southern California cars. Made substational change in our V10 car.

yeah we really do need to organize something.. for those of you that have the chip...the gears..stat... how does the dealer go about your warranty? when i picked my car up yesterday i asked this ******* about what would happen to the warranty.. he said void. lemme know about your dealers guys.. thanks

I like Dennis' idea about reprogramming the PCM with his chip program so the dealer won't know it's there.........the FIRST thing they look for is that little window broken out of the PCM.............

Major repairs have to be OK'd by the regional Ford rep so the first thing they look at is the PCM...they're very quick to void warranties so they don't have to pay................:uzi:

I'm all for a So Cal meet...............

You are right about Ed Hanson's abilities. He does excellent work and is well known throughout SD. Here is a little known fact one of his best guys is on his own in Escondido at Express Muffler. He worked side by side with Ed for years. He did a full system on my Shelby that is so sweet you have to get on your knees to see any exhaust because it is tucked up so nice. He is also doing the exhaust work for my buddy who owns LaForza. We have a lot of resourses available here in Southern Cal. Lets organize a meet for sure.

Greg,
I only bought my chip from Dennis, approx $350. I installed it myself with out taking the box apart, just flipped up the door, cleaned with electrical spray cleaner installed chip and put a piece of electrical tape over the door. The 4.10,s are Richmond gears, LM installed for just over $700 parts , labor, fluids, installed the K&N also with the oil change. Megs tips were bought here $100, Ravin 55's were bought and installed by Midas (who is the Ravin dealer in Vista) with the megs for $300. I bought the plugs from a friend who buys Denso's by the box for Lightnings for $50. Hope this helps.

Thanks jg! And for anyone out here in Southern Cali interested in mods, the place to go to is Chicane Sport Tuning in Torrance, they do great work(no whining gears) with reasonable service charges. You may have to set an appt as they are usually pretty busy but it is worth it. Best thing is they are pretty good about letting you observe maintenance being perfomed on your baby. A good thing for anal people like me. POC is Joe, tell him Mo sent you. PM me for more info or call him directly (310)782-0063. Relax, he is a Ford guru, Saleen certified, all Ford tooling, ASE cert. mechs. All service done by the BOOK!
By the way they did all my mods(4:10s, t-stat, plugs) and I could not be more satisfied.

Amerikan, I ordered the chip, gears, stat, and plugs from Dennis R. I installed the chip, the rest installed by Chicane. Labor ran me about $250 for gears and $113 for t-stat and plugs.

Welcome to the site! And THANKS for a local performance shop recommendation for us Southern California-based Marauder owners! Really didn't know who to trust out here in L.A. Do they also do exhaust?

TAF:

Thinking about taking a quick flight out to Ennis for perhaps a day, but I tend to have a pretty unpredictable schedule.

maudominguez:

Thanks for the link! Went to their site, and they look like a pretty knowledgable bunch of guys. As far as exhaust, are you considering Dennis' new shortie headers/highflow cats kit? I am--it's a custom-designed bolt-on (and some weld-on) kit just for our Marauders--a perfect complement to a blower install.

I think I've finally decided on a supercharger, and the only affordable (relatively speaking) option right now is Trilogy's Eaton blower. Sounds like Chicane (Torrance, CA) might be the place to do the install for us Southern Californians.

By the way, do you know any good custom wheel shops around here? I'm thinking of either powdercoating my factory wheels black, or having them anodized black (it that's possible). Thanks for all your help.

Some advice: I'm working on getting a powdercoated set done myself. It is a lot more trouble and expense to do the polished rims because all the clearcoating has to be removed before powdercoating. So the best way to go about it is to round up a full set of the unpolished rims from 300A spare tires.
