I attended my first car show in Wilmington NC today with fastblackmerc, and it was a great first experience. We pulled in together and the parking attendant placed us side by side. We then had another director come over and tell us " You don't see these cars everyday. You need more room. ", and moved us over to double the acreage between the two black battlewagons.
These cars attract a lot of people and a lot of questions. It was hard to get a picture of the cars without people around them. I thank fastbalckmerc for showing me the ropes, and opening the door for me. I am now hooked, and seriously sun burned. I cant wait to do it again.

I believe we were in the same class. Strange show... some classes had 3, 4 or 5 first places... Never seen anything like it. Was good to meet Steve and his wife and a good day for the Marauder. :banana2:

BTW Steve and I are "officially" rednecks :D

You got the respect down! When I show mine, I generally have people tell me what a nice Grand Marquis that is and that the engine looks like it came that way from the factory. I get joy telling them that is was very limited and only a handful were made. I can get a 75-year old man to sit in front of me and hang on to every passionate word I say about my car. I guess it brings them back to a day when they felt the same way and it touches a lot of people to see that kind of conversation between two generations of such an age gap. The best thing about car shows; skin color, political affiliation, religious beliefs and age do not matter. We are all friends with a common bond!

I had one family come by near the end of the show. Their son who must have been 9 or 10 said the 2 MM's were his favorite cars of the show! I offered him a chance to sit in the drivers seat but he declined. :( I'll see how my DVD recording came out and I'll try to post some pics of the other cars there.
