Sorry about the issue...have a guy in my church that he had some of his bowel removed and been on a bag for about 3 months...going back in thursday for putting bowel back together...he told me about the chalk and stuff and he says it really hurts and is not comfortable...he got staff infection with his surgery and this really put him behind on healing...he is same age as me 48...so I can appreciate what you are going through...hang in there and look for a better day...you are on my prayer list and God is faithful...willie

Eric, been there, done that, got the scars... in 99. Mine was done via the scope route, 1st 18" and secum removed. I was back to work in three weeks. If you can get the infection under control it will go much better. Do as the Doc says and take care of yourself. Prayers enroute.

Good luck Eric, do what needs to be done. Dont live with it for longer than you have to. Is your surgeon aware you have no medical insurance? I am not positive, but a lot of times in cases like these physicians will refer you to Social Services Dept to discuss your options; maybe a payment plan; reduced costs if you have this surgery done in a teaching hospital ? (where there will be student doctors watching your surgery while the "real" surgeons do their work).

Find a way to get it done ASAP. Feel better

Good luck.

My Dad had bladder cancer 8 years ago. They removed his bladder and made a new one out of his intestine.

10 days latter he was walking around at home.
