I see nothing whorific John....

Let me say, you have accomplished what many of us have only dreamed of.
Marty and Jerry may have built the sickest fast Marauders in the world....but John's car is the epitomy of what many of us greW up seeing in the Mad Max movies of Marauders. Marauders...NOT crown vics...of bad ass cars.

I am still surprised that you did not recieve near the attention I thought you have with this project. Perhaps a lot too late?

Whatever...

I am majorly impressed with your project.

Thank you BOOYA!

John: Please post that picture of drool running all the way from my front door to Barry's. I want Barry to know that some of us sure do appreciate what you have accomplished. That car is the *****. Period.

Thanks for the BOOOYAH! It is understandable and true that it is a little hard for the car to receive attention when I'm having such a hard time getting it finished and actually TOO an event.
:D

But no matter, I didn't build this to be the "grand poo-bah" of Marauders, I am building this to please exactly one person; ME! I just happen to be the sort of guy who shares his happiness with his peeps (Marty, you can still send diet Mt.Dew!) LOL!

And behind the scenes I've been desperately working to still try to make the SSHS6 meet and the ship ran aground yet again yesterday... Here's the story:

I needed a new fan shroud and fan because that "PHAT" blower belt is in the way of the factory unit. Even the Cobra one that works with the Vortec kits was too deep to fit. I called Griffin Thermal Acquisition Co (new name, new owners, some of the same people) and they had me fill out a form to order the custom shroud. We decided that a pair of 11" fans on the custom shroud would be just the ticket. So I wait for about a week and call just to find out that, yes they had received the fax but needed more paperwork to know exactly what I wanted. I took a dozen or so pictures and emailed them to the person. He then isn't sure still so I make a second drawing, to scale, with Top, Side and Front dimensions. I send that PDF along with another dozen or so pictures with a tape measurer shown at all the key places showing depth and width of things. The most important part is how the mounting tabs are posts at the top and simple slots for wedges at the bottom. Another week passes... I call him again and he still isn't sure and recommends sending in the radiator or the old shroud. 2.5 weeks! Arrgh!

Ok, I box up the old hacked up shroud (from an experiment the night of the test fire) and off it goes, OVERNIGHT RED, so this can get finished. What a waste! They keep it for 4-5 days and then yesterday I finally get my new shiny shroud with the fans mounted and the old beat-up shroud. Man, I couldn't wait to get home and slip it into place!

[holy explitives deleted batman!] I put it in and it is WRONG! They didn't put the mouting tabs at the top offset by 1" as per the drawings, as per the pictures, as per the PDF, AS PER THE ORIGINAL SHROUD THEY HAD ON THE TALBE!!! I mean, this engineer had to be SOFA KING WE TODD DID!

I'm out $590 and their offer was for me to send it back and they would look at it again. If I did that, I would surely miss SSHS6. So, I got with Mark "Tubbed my Marauder" Brown and asked him if he could cut the wings off and re-TIG weld them where they need to be. It will be quicker and cheaper this way and I let Griffin know, politely, that I expected some sort of compensation for this total failure of their engineering dept.

So, I'm hoping to get it repaired today and still waiting for the black box (MIA 2+ weeks now) to get this on the road.

Whew... I sure feel better after typing that!

Cheers!
