So I saw one of these as I was heading home just now and they happened to stop and eat near my apartment. So I went and got the camera and took some pics. When I was behind it in traffic, I must say it sounded real nice. This one was Shelby 06H444.

I saw one in a driveway in Miami but I had not seen one on the road, or gotten a chance to look at it closely. I didn't even think Tallahassee was a location that you could rent it out of.

Was it a Hertz rental or was it a purchased one? Looks like a barcode sticker on the lower left corner of the rear window.

Just saw the Hertz badge. How did you get the overhead shot? Were you standing on the roof of your MM?

It was the rental, they arent for sale yet. But I'm pretty sure Hertz plans to sell them eventually. No I was not on the roof of the Rauder hehe. I just stuck my hand in the air and held the camera at a downward angle.

I read an article that Ford will recollect all the rentalls,It did not say why!

It seems that these rentals are more plentiful than the original ones. I've seen 4 at the Tampa airport, 2 at the Raleigh Durham airport, 1 at Baltimore Washington airport and 2 at the Atlanta airport. I remember seeing an article that Ford will manufacture this model for sale to the general public.

I read a article in Automobile magazine where they rented the Shelby for 9 days to see what it was like. The Author said he was disappointed in how very de-tuned the car is. He said it felt somewhat similar to driving a V-6 model but with a more aggresive exhaust.
It was noted that what the rental version lacks in performance, it makes up in the looks and stares it gets when driving it around town.

Isn't that just a GT with the "Shelby" appearance package? These are only available for rental companies though, as of now? Man, those things must have bald back tires when they come back.

I have read that they have permanent traction control. Save the tires? Also I have read that you can buy a Shelby Mustang that's very similar in white or silver with silver stripes for about 35K.

I work at the airport in Columbus, OH. The Hertz agency there has three of 'em.

Notice the sheer lack of parking between the lanes concern?

Classic rental!!!

That unique model looks really cool regardless.

Hey Dave and Marty....

Your collections really need one of these.
I wonder if you take every available insurance....you could just NOT bring it back.

That sounds like something a writer from Automobile magazine would say. After all it isn't a top-of-the-line European built car.
I guess his Press credentials were no good...had to rent it.

In that article in Automobile magazine where they rented the Shelby for 9 days to see what it was like. Thay must have not shut off the traction controle.
