The Last Taurus

I'm in Atlanta on business.... local news says the last Ford Taurus will roll off the Atlanta assembly line today at 9:00AM. Almost 7,000,000 Taurus's were made.

The last Taurus is also going to the founder of the Chik Fil a restaurants ... he and Ford have been working this out for a long time as he credits his success with his first place form the FOMOCO employees at the Atlanta plant. His first eatery was close by ...

Unfortunately no MM... got a Toyota 4-Runner (Hertz). I'm at the Crowne Plaza on Powers Ferry near 285/75 intersection. Working at the main IBM site.

It is sad. The Taurus wagon is one of my favorites.

The Taurus' were awesome. My mom had a '94 Taurus GL?, she then got a '98 LX Taurus and that was a great car. My dad then had an '01 SES Taurus and that was mint, but he traded it for his '04 3v 5.4l F150. He misses that still somewhat, great reliable car. I think I may get one as a DD.

Isn't it a crime how Ford completely abandoned the Taurus beginning in 2001. The Duratec 3.5 liter engine should have been available in 2000; what in the world were they thinking. Bill Ford and his marketing morons need to get out of the automobile business, or at least Fords end.
