One my way home this evening I found myself at a little drag strip called Bunker Hill in, of all places, Bunker Hill, IN.
Gate opens at 5:30, track at 6:00. Friday night is for test and grudge racing.
BunkerHill (http://www.bunkerhillrace.com/dragindex/drgindx.html)

I remind you, on the way home for work, stil had my laptop, projector, and other misc. stuff in the car. Better planning it would of not been there.

So any how, I made 4 passes with very little break in between. I always ended up against a guy in a white 74 or 75 Cutlass (needless to say I beat him everytime).

I can see with 1/8th mile track how 4.10's would help. I was only in second through the traps.

Despite this is my first time back in about 10 years, my reaction times look like I was out for a Sunday drive. Here are the times. (witout reactin times :sleepy: )

1. 60ft 2.403; 1/8th 10.229 71.18mph
2. 60ft 2.357; 1/8th 10.213 70.55
3. 60ft 2.300; 1/8th 10.174 71.09
4. 60ft 2.381; 1/8th 10.229 70.75

Besides being a hurry to get home, and forgetting to turn off the Vent, a little rusty on my launches, and weighted down, these are not bad for stock.
At least I got room for improvement and have some benchmarks to go off of.

Good for youI Found a 'drive through' drag stip on the way home!

Better than turning in to McDonald's or going to the pub ;)

So can you really launch on the last yellow and not be in violation for jumping the light? Is that pretty much what everybody does with big cars? I see some people's track slips posted on the net and their reaction times seem unreal. I have good reflexes, but jeeesh... :)

Yep...If you see green, you're already late.

I was leaving on the last yeloow and pulled a .6 to .8 reaction times. .4 is perfect.
Had I had more time, I would try launching when the second yellow goes out.
A lot of tracks are now going to LED's. Instant on, instandt off. .000 is perfect reaction time. Indianapolis has went to them this year. It has caused a lot of red lights this year.

Regular bulbs are easier to watch because the have a fade time that you can get your eyes adjusted to.

I believe our foot has a faster reaction time than our Marauder....

Guys,

Just keep in mind that your reaction time has nothing to do with your ETs. The clock doesn't start in your lane until you trip the beam, so you could sit there for 10 seconds then decide to launch and your ET would not suffer. You'd lose the race, obviously... ;)

Not sure if you guys knew this, just FYI for the beginners here.
