It's a sad day but I am selling my Marauder. Why? Business reasons. In my business the dollars can go into things that will grow more dollars.

I'm planning to list the car on eBay soon. If any of you guys knows anyone that wants a blue MM with Kooks let them know right away.

What do you guys think I should be able to sell the car for? It is really in great shape. Please try to give me as realistic an opinion as possible.

Best,

Dan

Hi Dan:
All the best with your new venture. Making tough choices is difficult. Hopfully the sacrifice now will pay dividends in the future.

I bet the CT State Patrol is happy you are retiring Now they might have a shot at catching you:burnout:

But what good are more dollars without a Marauder in the garage?

Hope you stick around... I've always enjoyed your posts.

I hope a member here grabs your car... we've got to keep an eye on the blue ones!

Best (right back at ya!),

How many miles on her Dan? Do you keep her garaged? Smoke? No Smoke?

Guys,

Thanks for the kinds words. They are good to hear.

I plan to get back into the MM fold soon. I just have to put first things first.

I'll post up the eBay auction that I've put together. It doesn't start until tomorrow. I'd really like feedback on the auction before it goes up. I'd hate to have put something in it that sounds off.

Best,

Dan

Sorry to hear about the need to sell :( Those always suck.

If the milage is low, and the condition is good....$20-ish is very resonable for a Blue. It only takes the right person to make you happy :D

How many miles on her Dan? Do you keep her garaged? Smoke? No Smoke?

Here are some stats and photos...
49801 miles. Non smoker. Kooks custom exhaust from front to back. Metco control arms. Legal tint, front and rear.

I keep her garaged most times but it has spent a few nights under the moon. How many? Less than a months worth.

Here is the description that I used in the auction...

This is a very rare car. There were only 328 DARK BLUE PEARL METALLIC Marauders made by mercury and this is one of them. This is the rarest of all Marauder colors. As it is, owning a Marauder gets attention and stares but everyone knows that Mercury made them in black. Just wait until you see the looks that you get from owning a Dark Blue Pearl Metallic Marauder. People are always commenting on the car saying, "Wow. I didn't know they made them in that color. It looks really cool"

Blue is also closer to the color of a lot of police cruisers. If you want a vehicle that will move cars out of the fast lane faster than a fire truck this is the car for you. To make things even better, this car offers a special blen of road holding and performance... luxury and comfort.

I bought this car in the spring of 2004 with just 6,000 miles on it. I am the second owner - a non smoker - and have tried to take very good care of this car. The former owner was also a non smoker. I have garaged it, kept it dealer maintained and had it detailed frequently.

Overall it is in very clean condition. It is very mechanically sound. It has never been in any accidents since I've owned it and the Oasis report I did on it prior to purchase told me that it hadn't been in any prior to my purchase. In the interest of full disclosure the car does have some small paint chips in the nose. They are very hard to photograph. None go to the metal. For a 3 year old car with 49K miles it is well less than average. Also, the front left headlight has condensation. The light operates correctly.

This car has a custom exhaust that runs from the headers back. Kooks Custom Headers (http://www.kookscustomheaders.com/) is the maker. It's quite a system! It gives the car 50 more HP over the stock 302 and gives the car a very, very distinct sound. It really lets people know that you have an 8 cylinder engine without being obnoxious from the cockpit. (NOTE: I saved the original muffler system and will include that with the sale.)

Also included in this auction is the Marauder Jacket in XL size. Not a lot of people know this but every Marauder sold came with a supple leather jacket. The jacket has the Marauder God Head logo stamped and embossed in all the right places. I don't know how much this jacket sold for when it was new. My guess is over $300.00. If you are a Marauder fan like I am then its value is greater than that.

I also have accumulated some promotional items that Mercury produced for the car such as a promotional CD, pamphlet, etc. Those will be included.

I am also including a full set of mounted snow tires for the car. I put these tires on for winter driving even though I rarely drove it in the winter. It was a "just in case" sort of thing. The snow tires are in near new condition.

Other details...
• POWER: LOCKS, HEATED MIRRORS, WINDOWS, TRUNK RELEASE, FUEL DOOR
• 8 WAY POWER DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS WITH LUMBAR ADJUSTMENT
• FOOT PEDAL HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
• AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS
• STEERING WHEEL OPERATED CRUISE CONTROL
• AM / FM PREMIUM SOUND SYSTEM WITH CASSETTE AND CD PLAYER (6 DISC IN TRUNK)
• MERCURY AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM
• DRIVER AND PASSENGER LIGHTED VANITIES
• AUTO DIM REAR VIEW MIRROR
• SECURITY SYSTEM
• DRIVER DOOR KEYLESS ENTRY
• REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY
• DRIVER AND PASSENGER SECOND GENERATION AIRBAG SYSTEM
• THREE BUTTON GARAGE DOOR OPENER
• MARAUDER FLOOR MATS
• OPERATORS MANUALS

Finally, I am including a 2 year 24,000 mile powertrain warranty from Universal Underwriters Group, the nations largest warranty company. The warranty includes rental reimbursement, trip interruption, and emergency roadside assistance coverage. This is a $1,500.00 warranty that covers engine, transmission and drive axle. It has a $100.00 deductible.

Hey, sorry to hear your selling your Marauder. If I didnt need a car so bad last month when I bought mine I most undoubtedly bought yours. The last entry from 94 302 was right the pics dont work. Let me tell this though, the value on the Marauders has dropped, probably due to fuel. Because the one I just purchased only blue booked and NADAd for app. $16800.00, and thats all my bank would give. Im in Tx but I think thats nationwide. By the way it only had 27789 mi when purchased. Good luck friend!

Hi, I think that you were trying to view them while I was trying to edit the URL's. I had two problems. 1 had to do with using HTP and not HTTP. The other was related to my having a private directory level in the URLs. It should all work now.

Thanks for the feedback on pricing.

Dan, as this post shows, you will likely get nothing extra for your rare color. I sold my blue Marauder to RaceLegend79 at a bargain basement price after 6 months of no serious interest from anybody. But I'm glad I sold it to an enthusiast who loves the car. The Marauder is a great car, but the people who love it are a very small cult, and that's too bad.

Hi Johnman,

I honestly hope that you are wrong. :)

Right now the auction is at around 11.2K. I'm sort of enthused by this right now since the auction doesn't end until Sunday.

I hope that it does sell to an enthusiast. I know I'm one and this car deserves a good home.

Best,

Zack,

What happened to you? I was expecting that you'd be all over this auction.

Either the car moved out of your range (I hope not) or you have a great plan of attack to come in late and snipe it.

I wish you good luck, my friend.

Best,

Dan
