Is the compressor that is on the Marauder the same part as the GM and CV? I am having many problems with my air suspension system. I am on my 3rd one now. They are pretty hard to get. I had to get the last one from a dealer up in Wisconsin. The problem is now that the system will run much to frequently. It can sit for a few minutes, and it will kick on. Have checked over and over for leaks, even took it in to get it checked, and nobody can find any. What was funny though, is that the guys at a Ford place suggested that it might be because "you have larger tires on the back". They don't even have a clue that it was from factory with them. Anyway, the part that I got last time was for a GM, and was wondering if the Marauder one is different. It used to kick on in the morning, then maybe later on in the day. Now it comes on just about every time the car is sitting for more than a few minutes. You old timer's that have had your's for a while, have you noticed any differences in frequency of the compressor over the years. I've had mine for about 4.5 years now.

Thanks much,

I don't know if the compressors are different, but I don't see why they would be. IIRC, there is a rebuild kit for them??

I have had a similar problem on my CV. The compressor would run for a long time, and never fully lift the car. After 20 minutes of driving, the car would lean to the left. Now, I'm not a small man (and not getting any smaller), but I knew it wasn't my fat a__ doing it.

Replacing the left side air spring, which was full of small holes due to debris chafing it over the years, fixed it.

If you do any gravel driving have a look. Lift one side by the frame (turing off the air suspension switch!!) and if you lift it enough you'll see the entire airspring. The rubber near the bottom on mine, where the layers overlap, was very obviously bad.
