We all know better than using strange ATMs and to dutifully find a branch ATM for our withdrawls (we do... right?). Now the schemers have figured out a way to get your data even on a branch ATM. Link to demo (http://www.ou.edu/oupd/atmfake1.htm).

Now we have to grab a hold of the various parts and tug first to be sure we're not passing it through some stick-on apparatus.

It just never ends. :alone:

I like to use the "Cash Back" option when I use my debit card when making purchases at some stores in my area. No additional fees and no fear of this type of scheme.

That setup was on CSI almost a year ago.

Fear everything. :) I spent the three days prior to MVIV at a computer security conference. Everything electronic is hackable if someone has enough time and money to devote toward the effort. I check my bank account and credit card almost daily for odd charges.

At least back in the old non-digital days, you got the personal touch when you were robbed.

Truth is I don't use my debit cards for anything other than deposits at my local branch drive up ATM. I will be taking notice if there is anything new like a brochure rack or snout on the card slot. :nono:

I'm still wondering why the key pad at our drive up ATM has Braille push buttons.

While blind people don't typically drive, they do use ATM machines. Manufacturers use a single keypad with braille on the buttons for all machines. At the time of assembly the manufacturer doesn't know if a certain machine will be used for walk up or drive up service, and it would not be cost effective to have two sets of keypads.

Also, at some banks the only ATM is a drive through type. There's nothing that forbids a blind person from getting out of a car to use it.

That's why I use cash for almost everything.
