Hodwy all. Just joined.

I do not own a MM and I don't think I ever will....but I WANT one!

I have always been a fan of the 90’s Impala SS and the MM take that styling one step further in my opinion.

Problem is I already have a weekend fun car so the MM would likely become a daily driver and I do not want to do that to such a collectible ride.

I live in Michigan and the salt would kill the car -- not what it deserves.

I see one or two around Ann Arbor from time to time and they always catch my eye.

Anywho…I plan to lurk in the shadows and read up on these beauties in case I change my mind and grab one for myself.

Cool gran national. Those cars are really fast. I used to want one really bad, still do but I need the four doors now. The MM is the perfect dailey driver, that's what I plan on using one for. But I live in California, so the winters are less harsh on our vehicles.

Thanks. It scoots along :)

I just had to part with my 89 Datona ES Turbo as it was rusted beyond repair and was unsafe. That is the one thing I do not like about Michigan...we salt EVERY time a snow flake falls.

I have a long list of cars I want for daily drivers but most of them have collectibility potential so I won't do that to them :(

Dude, easy fix is to buy TWO Marauders. One to garage and keep pretty and one to drive and enjoy every day. :)

Renthorin
11-15-2006, 09:02 AM
I have considered that before actually :)

Alas, my 2 car garage has one car inside (GN) and the rest of the space has been converted to dog kennels so I only have room for one car.

I need a pole barn!

Here is a high mileage black 2003 in your area.

What is a KB? Kenny Brown (from Indy). Very limited edition...Vortech supercharger, suspension mods, big brakes...only about 30 ever made, and there won't be any more.

...and that chump Haggis owns TWO of them...

Welcome to the site...I've always been a GN fan...it's a very under-rated car.

Welcome:

You have yourself a really nice weekend ride. I had a friend who bought one of those brand new up in MA.

We used to go from the Boston area to Atlantic City screamin:burnout: in that car. Silly fast stock.

CT State Troopers had a few and Buick T -Types also, so when we were going through eveyone pulled over and let us by, just like in the Maruader today. I guess you could say that was my first "Moses" experience.:D

Enjoy the site. Its the people here who make it a good place to hang, not just the cars.

Best regards,

Nice looking ride Bill. Looks sharp. By the looks of your speedo you only have
21 thou. on her? That's remarkable.Nice to see you keep her covered and
garaged. Good for you. Before I forget. Welcome aboard.:)

the 21k was from 2001. She now has 35k.....but I bought it to drive so that is ok with me :-)

I just found a MM that is in my price range for the milleage:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=210360231&dealer_id=4277119&car_year=2003&model=MARAUDER&num_records=&make2=&start_year=2003&engine=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&certified=&fuel=&body_code=0&search_type=used&distance=200&first_record=51&make=MERC&color=&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=48118&advanced=&end_year=2007&pager.offset=50&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=189

BUT...I must be strong. The wife would KILL me I suspect. I would only drive it in the spring-fall as we live on a gravel road and they NEVER plow it.

My daily drive now is a 98 Chevy Blazer 4x4 so it does the trick....just not cool.

Hey Haggis, while I would love another TR that is even less likely to happen than adding a MM to the driveway :(

If you are trying to sell have you been to turbobuick.com and listed it there? There is a "Haggis" on the board but he/she has never posted.

Just out of curiosity...does the MM have traction control?

That was me, I had posted in the past, but it seems that my posts were deleted. The 300b does and the 300a does not. Hope that answers your question.

Hey, Nice GN. I was looking at one prior to getting the MM but it never worked with the parents because the MM came with a warranty. Anyway you wont regret the MM as a daily driver. Because you have to drive in the snow I would suggest getting some snow tires, Ive heard alot of great things about the MM with winter shoes. To answer your question I believe that early build 03's didnt have traction control, Later models and 04's have it.

18 and you have a MM? Don't make me sadder than I already am :(

Just told the wife I want one and sent her a link for the one I listed above.

She said "sure, you can park it in the garage after you sell the GN".

So..... anyone want to go for a ride in my Blazer?

Aaww, cheer up fellow gear head! I know how ya feel! I love cars so much and my MM is my daily (what a bad *** daily driver!) and my Mach 1 is my weekend warrior. I would absolutely L-O-V-E to have a GN to park in the garage next to the 'Stang, but can't afford it right now. Even if you don't get a Marauder, just be thankful that you have a sweet GN like that!

I know a lot of guys that would love to have a Grand National!

Hey I can relate to all of that salt damage as I am originally from Troy Mi...While I was at MVIV last week and I was talking to Kennyrauder whom is from Timmons, Ontario and he told me he takes his car to have it rust proofed every fall with a machine oil like coating that they spray in every crevice and orfice that they can get the oil to spray into.He said it works great and was getting remarkable results using this procedure...Its new to me , Do they offer this in Mich these days?..

The Marauder you are looking at in autotrader is a 300A, Without traction control.

All Canadian Marauders are equiped with traction control as well as
2003 300B's and all 2004's.

Just keep reminding her that it is a 4 door FAMILY sedan with a BIG trunk....

The fact that you'll begin 'modding' it immediately and only drive it on nice days won't be evident until AFTER the purchase....:D ..;)

BTW: Love those GNs...My roommate in college bought one after I repeatedly savaged his 350 Formula with my new 85 5.0 GT Mustang...
He got an 86 GN, before anyone knew how fast that "Black Monte Carlo" was, then proceeded to tear my 85 GT a new one...:o
I would always get him in first gear, but once he got full boost, I could only watch as he walked on by!

When the Buick Turbo Coupe graduated to a GN, I almost owned one. I was standing at the salesman's desk with cash in hand, when the wife said "If you do this, you will not see me again".

Had I know how I would come to feel one year later, I would have stood the salesman on the desktop and stuffed my cash into his pocket before her very eyes.

Buick Grand National...One of America's greatest automobiles ever, hands down. mercury should have stuck to the "black only".

BTW, Kenny brown bult over 50 Marauder S cars, I owned the first "experimental" Marauder S that started it all back in 2002.

It's now a police car in Honolulu, go figure...
