Well tomorrow at 6AM I go in to the hospital for my operation concerning some issues I discussed a few weeks back.

I'll take all the prayers I can get ... as there are some complications & risks with this ... as with most surgeries.

Word has it I have one of the best surgeons in the area ... so lets hope things go as well as they can.

Not really sure what I'm in for just yet ... but I'd like to be home as soon as possible.

I'm trying to tie up a few things before morning & will be on & off here for a few hours.

The fistula gets removed as well as a good chunk of colon, and then it gets re-sectioned. The bladder will also need to heal as well.

I'll take all the prayers I can get ... as there are some complications & risks with this ... as with most surgeries.

Eric, hang tough and be strong on this. Your strength will help to minimize any post-complications. Sounds like you are in very good hands. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Here's hoping for a quick and complete recovery.

All the best Eric...........

The things that can be done in an operating room these days are truelly amazing. A little prayer and positive thought don't hurt none either.

Get well:up:

Your on our prayer list, and so is the surgeon. May his skilled hands be guided by the almighty, and the procedure be successful. We wait to hear of your recovery.

Hi Eric. The thought of it is the worst part. It'll be over before you know it, then the recovery.
Take it easy, and keep positive.

Eric, I had the same surgery in 1963--still healthy and happy at age 78---do what the docs tell you and grin and bear the pain--it will be well worth it in the years of comfort and health ahead--my prayers are with you--speedy recovery, Maury

Just spoke with Suzie. Eric is out of surgery and is in quite a bit of pain. The surgery was more intense than anticipated but was a success. No complications at this point. He has a "button" to push whenever the pain gets bad but it only does so much. They don't know how long he will be in the hospital but suspect it will be at least a couple more days.
He and Suzie send their appreciation for all the well wishes and prayers.

Thanks Claude. Going through the peritoneum is no trivial matter, and bowel resection even more difficult and dangerous. Getting a clean pathology report, and thumbs up from the surgeon is the best news possible. Every day he's gonna feel a little better, lets hope they don't kick him out of the hospital too soon. :)

Take it easy for a while Eric. I had the colon resection two years ago. I wanted to get out the house after being home 1 day and spending 8 days in the hospital pressing that button.... So I went to my LM dealer a bought a shiney new black Marauder. I skipped a few pain pills and test drove the car and just had to have it! I couldn't drive it for another week (complications = pain from the surgery) but it was worth the wait. 58K later, 6 trips to Ft Myers, MVIII and MVIV and I still love it.

When you get on your feet... Buy something shiney and new for yours, it will make you feel better.

Take Care. Our prayers are with you!
Shaun & Diane

All,

Thanks again for all the well wishes.

I was discharged yesterday(Friday) & doing my best to try & relax & re-adjust.

Hopefully I can bounce back in a reasonable amount of time without too much muss or fuss.
