That's ridiculous. I guess it has a 2JZ engine in it, and obviously WELL built, I mean, just look at the guy trying to drive the damn car. Was the parachute necessary though? :poke:

seems like it had alot of peak power.... but that's it. If you look at the MPH... those only have a 120 or 140 mph clock... unless it was way off... looks like he only got to like 60 or 70 on those runs... and if you count it out it's like 6 seconds... looks like alot of useless peak power to me...

high peak power, if you watch you;ll notice there is no power in the car until right at the top of the revs

It's reasons like this that I an hesitant about turbos.

nothin to do with turbo, everything to do with people who put in 2JZs are all about how much power you can put down, not how much you can actually use. So they put a huge turbo on, with massive spool, that gives power only at the end... but tons of it... looks sweet on the dyno, not so sweet to drive. A correctly matcher turbo, can be even better than a superharger in some cases.

Yep....Many of them are awesome Dyno Queens.

They claim that they lay down 700, 800, 900 even 1000+ HP and technically, they do.....PEAK HP.
But when you look at the dyno graph they don't do ***** for 5,000 rpm, then WHOOOM! the engine goes ballistic for the LAST 2,000 rpm.
It's like driving with a light switch instead of a throttle....very poor street characteristics and very difficult to keep from blowing away the slicks at the track.
Still a bad a$$ little Lexus though.

The 2JZ engines are very capable of that amount of power (they also claim you can run between 500-800 safely without "building" the engine more). That's why Supra's are still in my opinion one of the best Import's out there. A kid in my town has a '97 TT that he converted to a T-66? (I think) whatever is one of the largest turbo's on the market are in his Supra. He's running around 18-22psi daily, and all he has in a cam, intake/full exhaust, boost controller, a tune, brakes/suspension; that nets him about 500-650 hp.

that has nothing to do with anything if it's all top end, especially if he has one of the largest turbos, all he is doing is making a car that he can say has XXX hp... big seal if you only have power for a second  just like that lexus that thing was slow as heck
