Marauder Calendar Update - Month Preview Inside!

Here is an update on the calendar that's being worked for 2007. I'm still needing a few more picture submissions, but I have received some great ones thus far.

By the way, my email is: mike.okonski AT gmail DOT com Substitute "AT" and "DOT" for the real thing.

It's been tough to pick things out - in all honesty I wish we could do a 365-day flip-book calendar. Some of the great pics I have simply won't be able to make it.

I'm trying to stick to themes for each month, and cover all the bases of Marauder-life.

Even for a limited production car...sheesh...that's a lot of ground to cover! You have N/A, SC'ed, Nitrous cars, black, dtr, blue, silver birch, Kenny Brown, Trilogy, Reinhart, FIT car, etc. etc. etc.

So I've tried to plan out the months before hand and find main pictures that fit into the plan. There's not enough months to make everyone happy, most likely, so lets keep that in mind. 2008 is only a year or so away anyway!

I will still try to fit 2-4 smaller subpictures in each month. So 3-5 pictures per month isn't bad. So, even if you don't get a main pic, I can still use your pic as a subpic, not to mention 2008.

Here's the plan thusfar:

January - All Colors - May have but still need a picture that has black, silver birch, dtr, and blue. Hopefully there will be a few to choose from - if you have this please email me.

February - New and Old - Got this one, got a pic of an '03 with a '65 (Yep I made my own calendar :rasta: but it's a great pic I think!)

March - Blue - Should be OK here, got a great few pics from Charlie (Bluerauder) Make it a blue month theme and lets get some more blue sub pics. I have one from Dave with a blue car from Ford proving grounds, but could use a few more. Email me.

April - Kenny Brown - I'm working to get a "pair" pick of 2 Kenny Brown's. I know there are other good KB pics, I could use them for sub pics this month. Email me!

May - Trilogy - Nice Trilogy month - I have plenty of Trilogy pics seeing as though I own one, but could still use some, maybe Jerry Barnes has some of his cars, plus the other Trilogy owners. Maybe an engine pic for the main pic, and the sub pics of Trilogy equipped cars?

June - FIT - Same as Trilogy month, maybe an engine pic for main, equipped cars for subpics. Don't have any that I have been given permission to use per my knowledge. Email me!

July - Reinhart - Same as above, I have a good pic from MaruaderMark's car but that's about it. Plus he hasn't expressly told me we can use it yet. :) So, same as above, email me!

August - DTR - Need some good DTR pics. Plenty out there, but I need them emailed to me giving me permission to use.

September - For September I already have the main pic from Blackened300a. It's his car in front of the NY skyline - I think it's a great pic considering what month this is. Would like to fill in the sub pics with Marauder pics with patriotic themes if possible. (Any CAM'ers snap a shot at the Pentagon?)

October - Prorauder? - I'd like a pic of Prorauder for this month. October = Halloween = EVIL IS GOOD! That car is just mean looking and would make a great main pic! Defyant (Charlie) also has a menacing picture of his SB car. Can Prorauder make the calendar TMF? And need some "menacing" pics for subpics. Email me!

November - Silver Birch - Believe I already have a main pic and I know of a few SB's I'd like to have as sub pics. Email what ya got if you wish!

December - Race Theme - I have a few cool pics from Dave when he was track racing his car. I think that'll be the main pic. Let's get some drag racing pics as sub pics too. In December race season is over but not far from our minds - what better to make a Marauder-er feel better in the cold months than pictures of Race season to remind what lay ahead next season!

So there it is. As you can see I still need some pictures to make it complete. As mentioned earlier I will have some excess pics that will not make it - please don't take it personally, as you can see I'm working to make this calendar show the various aspects of Marauder's, so we wont' be able to feature everyone's car this time around. Again, 2008, 2009, 2010 are all within the next 4 years. ;)

Oh and you may notice that BLACK doesn't get much of a theme month...well...I think we're covered throughout with the other themes. :)

If you wanna go with the 9/11 theme, Ill glady head down to the site and take pics there. I dont think the big cross is on display but I can track down the gold globe that was in the center of the 2 towers and try to snap a pic in front of it.
They broke ground on the construction so Im not sure what the site looks like lately.

Not sure on the cost yet, looking at a few places, I'm going to find a place that will be decent quality at a fair price, I'd say probably around $15-20 is gonna be about the price, will have to work that out with suppliers.

Just an FYI for anyone who is wanting to do a repic - you can but time is limited. I'd recommend doing it no later than this weekend. Once all the pics are assembled (in the next week or so) I'll have to touch them up and put the pages together in an image editor and that will take some time. I'll need to leave time left for them to become available for order before 2007!

So really about 1 week remains for pics considering it's Monday night now.

Thanks again for everyone for sending all the pics! We'll end up having enough for 2008 right in the get-go!

Hey ya'll, thanks very much for the pics.

I need the following to make things complete:

1.) Kenny Brown - I have the main pic on the way. I need some atleast 2 to be the "subpics" for that month. I know we have atleast 2 other Kenny Brown owners (or atleast one of them being a previous-owner.)

2.) Reinhart - Need an engine shot and car shots of Reinhart equipped cars. I think I may have the engine shot already...pm on it's way.

3.) F.I.T - Need a good engine shot and shots of cars with FIT kits. I know we got like THREE new ones in the CAM area, and plenty more out there in Marauderland - hit me up!

For all three supercharger manufacturers - expect a PM, I will be asking permission to use your logo's perhaps.

Really...this is all I need. I want to thank everyone for the pictures. I will hold onto them! I will say it looks like each month will only have 2-3 sub-pics - it's too hard to put more in without blocking the main picture for the month. So...alot of the pics I got cannot be used - sad to say, but it's true. I hope everyone enjoys the outcome and I'm sorry for those who did not make it in this time, again, 2008 approaches soon! Honestly the quality of pictures and our members cars have made selection difficult and really boiled down to photographic elements rather than the cars, such as color, brightness, adjustability of the picture, etc.

More info on the calendar...

The calendars themselves will be 17x22 inches when unfolded (open.) Each page will be 17x11 inches. They will be wire bound. Cost will be somewhere around $20.

Since there may have been some confusion about my email address, specifically why I posted it as mike.okonskiATgmailDOTcom rather than the real hotlinkable address, I wanted to explain.

In most forums, these pages are publicly viewable. And depending on how the backend software is configured they are also viewable by search bots such as google bots. As such posted email address can be picked up on google or other search engine searches. SPAM bots can locate addresses by searching for the @ and .com strings - some are more sophisticated than others. So...basically I write it that way to fools the less than sophisticated bots and help prevent spam. It's like a vaccine more than anything.

Had I taken the time to do so, I would've setup a dummy gmail account only used for picture submissions - I would've been more comfortable posting the full address. So...for anyone who was wondering, that is what's up with my email address. :)

Today Im heading out with my camera and will replicate the skyline shot so you have a bigger photo to work with, Ill also cruise around NYC and try to snap some shots of my car in front of NY landmarks.
I have a few in mind that will work great if you plan on going with the 9/11 theme.

Today since it was such a nice day out, I went back to the location of my skyline pic in Brooklyn and re-took the pictures so they are now large enough to include in the calendar.
I went downtown and had zero luck. Its still rather warm out and the tourists are out in force. I couldnt park in front of any landmarks and the streets were just jammed packed so I aborted my mission.
