So I went through with it--as of a few hours ago, I am now the proud owner of a 2003 Marauder! Picking the car up tomorrow night and I am psyched!! For those of you who didn't see the other thread I posted asking questions (and sorry if I've committed a breach of etiquette by posting this in its own), it's a 2003 Silver w/gray interior, 42k miles. Built 5/29/03, originally sold 7/9/03, powertrain warranty good until 7/9/09 or 75k miles, brand new rear tires and not much mileage on the fronts. Oh, and it comes with the original window sticker and a promo DVD. :) Paid 18,700...Couldn't get them to come off sticker much, I guess the disadvantage of buying from a Mercury dealer is they know exactly what they've got and how uncommon they are! But it's a fair price if not an exceptional one, IMO. I'll post some pictures of my own as soon as I get them, but for now, the listing will have to do:

Nice! That's a sharp-lookin' car!

You won't be able to wipe the smile off your face, trust me!

Every time I walk into my garage, I still drool over my 2003 Marauder. It's definitely a love affair. :)

Congrats Diamond, thats the same Dealer that sold me my Marauder back in 03. I was visiting family and stop by the dealer right there on Chapel Hill Blvd. Saw the car and had to have it. Everybody always asked me about the MJ signature on the trunk lid.

Glad to see you bought it. As soon as I get mine back we need to meet up and you can take a look & drive mine... slightly modded. I have to warn you..... once you've driven a modded MM, even slightly, you'll want to start on yours!!!

Prolly cause of thinner paint making it lighter...can't be much more than that....

Welcome aboard, enjoy your nice ride. SB's are faster...but only if they have a smaller pulley.:D S/C are different...the strongest ones have the smallest business. Dennis

I always thought it was sort of like Herbie the love bug thing. I share Irish Coffe with my SB and talk to her often...We have an understanding...

Owner of a 95 Impala SS. Interested in getting a Marauder. Curious as to what theives are looking for when they steal these cars? They are #3 (2004) and #8 (2003) for top ten stolen cars.

Welcome aboard.:D :welcome1:

I believe the compute the ratio of vehicles built to the # stolen.
The low production puts the Marauder high on the list.

Any serious mods will probably be a bit down the road for me...$$ issue, especially since I'm hoping to buy a house in the next year or 2. I do want to do tint soon though. I'll try to get some pics of the new car posted up tomorrow, couldn't do so over Thanksgiving since I forgot to bring my CF reader home and I had no way to get pics from my camera to a computer...

Pics are here!! Click to get a full-size version. (Though I warn you, taken with a 5 yr. old digital, so full-size is like 1280 x 900 or something...) Sorry about the lens flare on the interior shot, but I didn't have another one from that position. The car isn't perfectly clean either, after the rains we had on Wednesday and Thursday, but...oh well. Hope to return to the same spot with a better camera, more time, and a fresh detailing in the near future...
