Hello all. I just purchased my Blue MM 10/16/06 and it has brand new BFG TA KDW NT. Well, since Im a guy who sells tires and wheels for a living, I decided to look up tires for my car and I came across some brand new tires from Nitto. They are so new that you cant even go online to Nitto or any of the tire distributors websites. At least I couldnt just now at 9:00pm, but they almost have the same tread design as the Neo Gen with just a subtle difference but the big difference in these tires than any other 18' tire that Ive seen is that they have a RED sidewall to them like the old 60s and 70s hot rods. The start at around $220 a tire and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. As of now, btw, they are only available where I work, like I said, I couldnt even find them on the web. Any input would be appreciated.

If you had red painted calipers, a red pinstripe , and red inserts I think it would complment the red accent motif. But by itself ...not so sure.

I said sidewall wrong, I know I eluded to the 60's and 70's but not everyone knows. But its about an eighth of an inch thick red line.

What size do these tires come in? Will they match the OEM rear size? If so that is the first true size alternative.

The only size Ive seen, the ones I might get, is 255/45VR18, forgive the ignorance but whats a DTR?

Post up some pics so we can see em ... Can't imagine them looking good on a Blue but might work for Black, SB or Maybe DTR...

Yeah I saw an ad for these tires in a magazine. I love red line tires on a muscle car... not sure how I would feel about them in 18 inch tire form... It's just something I would have to see. :)

If you buy new red line tires, PM me with sizes and prices you would like to get for the KDW NTs that you take off. I like the KDW2 (NT) for my purposes.

............like my MM...........hey...that tire sounds interesting...I wear Nitto now.a bit larger, but the stripe does sounds interesting and that pic of it in the attachment earlier looks nice may go nice with my set up----,,,humm....

thanks for help Gents, but after futher evaluation I will probably go with some Pirelli P6's 255/45-ZR18

You know I have seen this tire before?

Yes 1970's Unroyal "Tiger Paws" fiberglass belted? I know it had a red pinstripe:)

A while back a guy was selling a MM on E-Bay. He had the red pinstripe, didn't look to bad.

AL, Your absolutely right!!! Hey RaceLegend79--does this red stripe tire come in 255x45x18 and 295x45x18?--can you check and let me know--Thanks-----that would look complete with my car for sure.....

Interesting! I think it would look good with red calipers. But, again, probably not on a blue car. Silver...hmmm...I'll have to think about this whenever I need new tires. Of course, since the dealer put new rear tires on the car before I bought it and the fronts aren't too old...may be a while in my case. :)
