Has anyone else noticed all the cops checking out the MM? Not the look like "I bet I catch that guy speeding"...more like "Man I wish my Crown Vic was cool looking like that with no BS plexiglass divider".

I constantly have cops checking out the car...whether it is pulling up next to me or looking at it parked.

Today on my way to work saw a local cop in a CV and he gave me the "Hand on the steering wheel wave"...I believe it was the "Hey nice CV because that must be a special undercover CV and therefore you must be 'on the Job'". So I waved back.

Maybe it is my imagination.....or maybe it is the Jason Voorheese Hockey Goalie Mask I wear when driving....who knows....

Hey 57, it's not just the cops, I'm down here working in Huntsville AL, and the young things working the fast food drive thru's just love it. Oh to be under the age of consent again.

You know we are just starting to get SONIC down here...the drive in fast food joints...I want to go to one and cruise a bit.....

Ah yes the young things.....and the classic old guy comment "Girls did not look like that when I was that young...":coolman:

We've still got one of the old style "pull up and the girl on rollerskates comes to your car" type of A&W's.

Lots of classic autos show up there Friday and Saturday nights. I've seen everything from '53+ Vettes to 50's Studebakers, 55 tbirds, to Z06 Vettes and of course, me. Hehehe.

It's not part of the A&W franchise anymore, but it's still a good place fro a cold rootbeer and some rings...

The cops check out my MM and I bet they wonder "what's a woman doing driving that thing" !! Ya gotta love it. I smile every time I sit in the driver's seat!

Never really got the "wave" from any LAPD or CHP officers yet here in L.A.--mostly just a few lingering inquisitive looks (as I'm casually easing my foot off the gas).

LAPD Bomb Squad Crown Victoria

I met an LAPD Bomb Squad officer yesterday and took a shot of his midnight blue Crown Victoria (not a CVPI). He had never heard of a Marauder. None of the cops I happen to meet seem to have heard about the car!

It happens so often around here that I'm starting to wonder. Many times I should have been stopped (if not just a warning), I wasn't.

I have actually teased a few when the 'side-by-side' situation arrises at a trafic light by nodding wanna go for it...

It always gets a laugh. :P

I was crusing about 75 in a 65 zone on the parkway and had a KY State Trooper pass me. He slowed up enough to check my MM out and sped off.

One of the city cops in my town was gassing up across from me and was wondering what was under the hood. He was suprised to see the 4v engine. He started questioning me about 1/4 mile ET's and how it rode at high speed. I was a little nervous answering that question.

I have noticed the cops here in wichita checking out my maruder. I usually always have to roll down the window cause they have a ton of Q's for me. And as 57 said the young things love the car, i am 19 and the girls at the sonic down the street love my marauder. They tell me they like it more than my lightning. I have even been pulled over on the interstae cause the cop wanted to ask me about the car

Ok, keep this a secret Ok, but when I was on the freeway on my way home from work at 3AM last week, I saw one of our plain CVPI. I recognized the plate and knew who it was in it. He was cruisin at about 70MPH. I dropped back a bit, got up to a certain speed that would attract the attention of law enforcement and blew by him. Then slowed down to keep his overtake speed under triple digits. As soon as he got close enough to see my plate he knew who it was. We exchanged a wave and he went off the next exit.

I get looks from people that think I'm a cop or detective. I think people tend to get out of my way on the highway. I want to set at the end of a side street and point my wife's hairdryer at oncoming cars.

When I tell people I drive a Maruder, no one knows what a Marauder is. "Is that a sport utility?"

NO.......It's a Grand Marquis with an attitude! It's big, bad and fast.

At 19 you have a lightning and a Marauder???? Man at 19 I was driving the family Cherokee which at the time was the extra super jumbo body style....very used and very un cool....you must be like the pied piper with the young ladies.... ;)

That is pretty cool....don't think I will try that...."Officer I was only speeding by you to give you the opportunity to check out my new car!" As he bounces my head off of every metal surface on his cruiser..... :D

I am glad you like the car...but do you work at SuperCuts or something....this obsession with your wifes Hair Dryer is a little creepy.... ;)

A couple of weeks ago, I was filling up with some petrol, a local officer comes out of the store with his lunch, looks over and cracks a huge smile and starts shaking his head. He is parked one lane over and proceeds to ask if his car has any chance of catching the MM. I let him know maybe today but I am having some "tuning" done, he proceeds to say probably not. He loves the car and only wishes his department would run some Undercover Units with the MM.

Needless to say the MM has a new friend.

I've given every one of the security guards at the entrance to our work facility rides or looks at the car and engine. they all love it. I've had a cop walk over in a parking lot to look at it too.

It's on eof those cars everybody loves to look at and imagine driving, but odd that no-one buys them?

I have been pulled over 3 times now and thanks to my Passport 8500, it was because the cop wanted to look at the car......heheheh.

Yesterday I was in AC, NJ (for work, I swear). I left the parking lot at 6:30 a.m. and was facing an AC RMP coming in the opposite direction. The RMP immediately U-turns behind me and I think to myself, I just pulled out of a parking lot (slowly, in fact) what could I have done????) and the RMP rolls up next to me. The Officer motions for me to roll down my window, so I do and he says "Nice car, how do you like it? I said :D . I then took off and he rolls up to me again at the next light.... Then we chattted for a while and I asked him to radio ahead to his Parkway police friends and extend me a courtesy and he said :D .

God, I love this car!

Marty - RMP sounds like NYPD jargon. RMP= Radio Motor Patrol. Hope you had a good ride home. I'am sure you did.

When I got hit about a year ago the cop was almost as mad as I was! He also wrote the other driver as many tickets as he could! :flamer:

Every cop I've talk to wants a Marauder Squad Car.

Robotek...

Love your blue baby...great pictures...

I have not been to GA lately but I would think they would have a bunch of suped up Marauders as cop cars....they have always been on the cutting edge with GHP cars....I have seen in the past Camaros, 280Z's....the MM would seem like a natural....

Maruader 57, the ladies do love my cars, my girl friend especially, she is always wanting to drive both of them, i dont know what i am going to drive each day, she leaves for work early in the morning and takes which ever she wants, and I alsways get left with a car with no gas. she really likes my blackMM though, she tells me its easy to drive, rides nice, and is fast as hell, she likes the lightning but says its to powerful and she hates the exhaust work i had done, she told me it to rude to drive on the street, I rarely get to rive the marauder anymore.

Marauder57

sounds like you need to adjust down the noise on the exhaust for your Lightning or you will never drive your Marauder again! ;)

It wouldnt matter if i did, she would still drive the marauder, and the bad thing about it is that im a fanatic about keeping my cars clean and she isnt, the only time she leaves the marauder home is when it needs gas and a wax and wash job. I have had the marauder for 2 months now and have probaaly only driven it 500 miles tops, she has put 2500 miles on it. All her little friends at work love it, they always tell her how lucky she is and how they wish there boyfriend had a marauder for them to drive everyday, I spoil her to much

I had one pull up to me in the grocery store parking lot, eyes glassy. I asked him if he liked it. He asked in a compelling whisper, "What IS it?". We spent 20 minutes in the parking lot letting him play with it!

Big Dog just as a refresher course......the road is not a scene from Mad Max or a Crash 'em Up derby.....you are not supposed to "hit" the other cars.....

Now Play Nice! ;)
