So I love the Marauders....but nobody else around me does...they just don't know. I am starting to get my brother to my side about them and he's starting to like the fact that is has a cobra motor and has the possibility to be very quick. My first question is...how fast is a stock 04 marauder in the quarter mile? I remember reading somewhere where people said the 03 was a lil slower due to shifting early or a sensor. With a few bolt ons, what can one expect to hit? Also, I would like to buy one and put 20's on it..i know what you guys are thinking....but I'm thinking a nice set of deep dish wheels...something classy...not bling bling....I have yet to find any pics with this car and 20's....do they exist? Thanks a bunch guys.

First off, welcome to the site!
Second, the MM does not have a Cobra motor, it has a Mach 1 motor.

It's not really a cobra engine, it's more like a Mach one engine. The cobra has stronger internal components and is better suited for supercharging.
20's? Good grief, my dad says the 18's are too big.
Somewhere there is a database of 1/4 mile times on this site. I don't race mine so I don't remember where it is.

20s would look fine, I had 19's and they were fine... you should lower it though for sure so you don't have low profile tires and an ugly gap. Stock marauders are not very fast, but for their sizr do pretty good. Jusst don't expect miracles. :D

Thanks guys for the responses. I'm hoping the car 04 stock could pull a 15 flat or lower. But from the posts I have read...it seems that the car gets great gains from mods. Ideally, I would like a high 13 second car..somewhere around my 95 M3. Is that possible with NA setup?
Are there any serious problems that this car may have or has? For example, my 1995 M3 are known to have bad waterpumps that should be changed right aways to a metal propellar. Anything like that or is it a fairly solid car?

Check the timeslips section. Very low 13's are possible as N/A.

Ya gotta check the wire harnesses at rear of cylinder heads and near power brake booster, many MM's have rubbing issues. Attached is jpg of my 18x10 ft and rear, with 285/295. I had to add steering/tire stop to prevent rubbing ABS wires. I agree with many that 20's are to much. And the inertia....

do you even know how heavy our wheels are? my 19" were less don't tell him stupid things on unfounded ideas of "the stock ones look best" that's really stupid

Even if a 19 inch wheel weighs less, it still has a higher moment of inertia due to the weight being farther from the point of rotation.
The moment of intertia is proportional to the radius SQUARED. So, even a lighter 19 or 20 inch wheel will have higher inertia and be harder to start and stop - that is, harder on your breaks and harder on the drivetrain.
Looks are entirely subjective - there is no right or wrong, only agreement and disagreement.
I personally think the stock chrome plated wheels are OK - I would like to have something else, but not enough to spend the money to replace them. I think 18 inches looks the best, but then again, that's just my opinion.
Moments of inertia and the other effects of wheel size are FACTS - looks are OPINION.

Hello and welcome tot the site. My bone stock '04 Marauder ran 14.83 on a cool day. It shouldn't be that hard to get to the 13's.

Stock wheels ain't chrome plated. They are polished aluminum and clear-coated.
A simple rotor and pad upgrade overcomes the moment of inertia issue for braking. Steel lines help, too.
It will be tougher to break 14 with 20's. You'll need:
Intake
Gears
Headers/exhaust
Torque Converter
good tune
I'm at 14.2 and headers will complete my list. Turnin 20's.
The 20's are hard to find with the right offset and bolt pattern for our cars. PM me and I'll be more than happy to help find a good STRONG 20 with the right offset to remain tasteful on our ride.
First thing you should do with bigger wheels is upgrade brakes. Details are on my site.
Last thing... Please, oh please, maintain the Marauder signature 'rake' with either smaller tires or wheels and tires in the front. In my humble opinion, equal size BIG wheels makes our ride look not so classy or aggressive.

'95 M3? I did the OneLapofAmerica in an M-fortified E36... great fun cars! Unfortunately, if you believe everything you read in the Roundel (BMW car club mag) it wasn't one of the most durable Bimmers ever made. I dunno, they always seemed fine to me.
The Marauder is a very proven design with lots of Crown Vic police/taxi real life experience behind it. Our cars are very durable... catch a cab in NYC or DC and you'll ride in a 300,000 mile version earning dollars a city block at a time.
Yeah, our motor has more in common with a Mach 1 or Lincoln Aviator, but all three look at the older Cobra motor as an ancestor.
Fun car... I like ours every bit as much as our 5-speed 528 wunderwagon.
Oh... and nobody assumes you're a prick just because you pull up in a Mercury, so you can still surprise them with that if you want! :)

Oops, how embarassing.
Damn it, I'm a electrical engineer not a metalurgist!!!!
Polished aluminum, chrome, etc. It's all just "shiney metal!!!!'
Seriously:
Thanks for the education.
(Must be some good clear coat - even as abused as my MM was from it's previous owner, the wheels look good.)

Nice looking 20's. In a perfect world...I would want 20's with a staggered, deep dish look. That only means one thing....$$$$
