my friends comp is crashing to desktop when he plays dark age of camelot. turns out the sblive is on irq 19.
i cant get the irq to 11 because xp+acpi= no dice. do you guys think this is the problem?
what do i do?
how the hell does he have more the 16 irqs?
the sblive needs to be on 11 doesn it?

his comp is a amd xp, gigabyte g7-vax, sblive, geforce4.

its driving me crazy, what can i do?

i'm no slouch on this stuff but this is one of those 'i dont even know why this is happeneing so i dont know where to look' kinda problems:help:

IRQ's higher than 16 are possible on PC that is PC97a compliant.

I suspect you are using DirectX 8a or above. Everquest doesn't support DX8a. Make sure it's DirectX 9 on Windows XP or 2000. Also check for updates to DAoC.

It's definately a software problem.

Use Ford and Harley Davidson special tool Part Number 1, a 3 pound blacksmith hammer,works every time. Just give it a good whack!

Uninstall then reinstall the soundcard... I do mean physically remove and uninstall all drivers.

heh, this board is wacky.

anyways, hes gonna reformat and i told him to pull the card but he doesnt feel like doing that. awh well. hopefully this will work.

if there is one thing i've learned is that creative's drivers are closer to being a virus then a useable piece of software.
grrrr...i hate them so much because they used to be really good.

Does it have traction control ? A chip will fix the sluggish shifting...... I dunno......that usually works for most questions.
