How many miles?

Proud MM owners:

I am curious........how many miles do you have on your pride and joy? It is my daily driver. As much as I would like to keep the miles down, it is tooooooo much fun to drive. I adopted mine on 3-22-03 with 43 miles. At this moment it is sitting in the garage with 4,385 showing. I plan to drive the tires off of it.

Sat in the seat on 11/4/02 for a test drive. Walked out that afternoon with the car. Had 10 miles on it when I did. I put 8 on it for the drive. As they say "the rest is history!" The car now has 23.5k. BTW, all smiles along the way.

Purchased 03/10/03, currently 2976 miles. Don't drive every day, but, commute far when I do. Won't drive in winter or bad weather, so will hopefully keep the miles down.

JG....Do a search on winter tires. I don't remember the thread right now, but I can tell you that the car will go where others won't with the winter tires. If driven with caution, it'll get you where you want to go. I passed sevceral CVPI's in the snow banks this past winter. We had 27" in a one week period. I drove home (55miles) in 10" of it, and then they declared a state of emergency and I didn't need to go out for two days. The roads were still pretty messy, but the MM and I got to and from without due cause for alarm. The OEM tires really stink in snow and ice......

Bought 8/02. Currently have 13,000 miles. Driven to Rail Station all week. I drove the MM with stock tires all winter, no problem at all much better than my previous t-bird.

I test drove mine in a snowstorm. We had knee deep snow, and it was coming down quite hard when I took it out. I was impressed that such a powerful car could be so managable in the snow. I tried several emergency moves, and that is what sold me on the car. It didn't drift to any side when the ABS was engaged, and trying to slide the tail out around a corner was impossible. It's also a credit to the people who programmed the traction control and ABS systems.

I do agree that the use of winter grips, not all season tires, would improve it's manners in the winter. Plus it would save the bright shiny wheels.

On topic, I just turned over 4000 km (1800 miles) yesterday. Total distance since February.

Bought it on 09-02, and now i have about 15,000 miles on it. No real problems, except for the axles and other little stuff. But that has been discussed in other threads. Drive it! Thats why you bought it!

Took delivery on 12/31/02 have about 4600 miles.
My office is in the home and my daily commute is about 20 feet.
I am hoping to get some highway miles on her soon.:D

bought 8/1/02 I have 4,536 miles on the clicker. this vehicle is only driven on sunny days this one will never see rain or snow.
out of that about 900 was from 2 trips from st louis to indy 2-times to see KB.

Bought 5/10/03 with 24 miles on it. Now it has c.1700. Now that school is out I will drive less, but I will still average 25K-30K in a normal year. I am in for the long haul also. My goal is at least 200K on this baby before I give her up. Quaker State had a program to sign up for the first time I did an oil change. Use their oil regularly and they guarantee 250K miles. Haven't read the specs but this sounds right up my alley, so I said what the heck.

I would also like to know from those who have tried which studded snows work best as we have had 2 mild winters in a row - bracing for a baaaad one here.

As for driving in snow -- it's all about momentum! :lol: I remember the days of my green '76 LTD and how fun snow driving was in that monster - especially since I had no money for even decent street tires much less snow tires. :D

marauder 03, i bought mine on 4-18-03 and have 6100 on her now, have been going back and forth to west Va the past couple of months, 23.5 is nothing ina year, i put 30K on my 02 Lightning, it only had 2 miles on it when i picked it up, so you arent the only one who drives the hell out of there cars. I am currently at 39K in the lightning, i just love driving it, the greaat thing is you cant even tell cause im such a nut about keeping my cars spotless, the thing looks like it has 5K miles on it, the marauder still looks great,everyone asks me if i just got it.

In about 5 minutes after I get off line I'll hit 26K. I bought it 11-05-03 and love to drive it. As for the snow, I got caught in a strom around thanksgiving, and it's not very pretty. With the wide tires, no traction control, I was pretty unstable at 25 mph, the car at 30.

Well,well, well--got mine same day as Murader03--11/02/02--w/310 miles--had 2886 when had wreck in March '03----out of body shop on May 9, 2003 with 2886 and now--7-8-03 she has 5700--a bit of stretching her out wouldn't you say...about double..2883 since then .. and waiting for small trip to VA next month and then the BIGGIE---Marauderville, Tx....Oh yeah!!!
