Do what KillJoy stated. Sounds like a spyware issue.

Speaking of Firefox, is there spyware, virus protection, firewalls etc that support Firefox? All of the big's say they support IE only, and although I'm not a 'puter weenie (sorry Steve) using Firefox is not for the dumbass like me, who just want use the *%^$#&'n machine, and not have to mess with stuff. That's why we pay a fortune for all the protection crap and meekly tell Spy Sweeper, every morning, "Thank you kind sir, yes, I'd like to quarantine those bad cookies you found, while I was sleeping, and may I now, please, kiss your butt and start my day"? :mad2:

Stryker, I feel your pain. :(

These apply if you are running Windows XP:

You can turn on the Built In Firewall. You can also install Zone Alarm.

I believe Firefox has a built in Pop-Up Blocker.

Any antivirus will still function (that is a matter of infecting the files on your computer, not your browser)

Ad-aware and Spybot both work well. As does Webroot's SpySweeper. Windows Defender works too...

Very Excellent advice! Amazing how things calmed down here after we implemented a solution for blocking known bad websites. Techs have to rebuild far fewer PCs.

Been using AVG antivirus with the Window's firewall and Window's Defender with consistently good results. None conflict with anything else and I think sticking to Microsoft products reduces the chances of having issue's. I never used Firefox, but I love the new Window's Explorer. I used Opera before the new explorer came out because it had a built-in email client, but went back to Outlook now.

I just say this (http://www.google.com/toolbar/ff/) today. You could try upgrading to this version of Firefox, if you are still having issues.

I would recommend uninstalling your current version FIRST though, then rebooting.
