I used adhesive with the self stick with no problems.
Never had too much luck with the self stick alone.

I had the same problems.

You gotta tape off the wall below where the border will go and sand the border area with 120 grit or the chit won't stick.

For all that effort, I'd just as well use paste-up border!!!!

Last time I used the self stick you had to soak it in water for a few minutes before the paste would activate

Well I pasted all my border up in my son's room today, I am really hoping to hell I wake up tomorrow and it's all still up on the rotten stinking walls this time. :shake: :beatnik:

We used it a few years back with pretty good success. House is fifty years old with who knows how many coats of paint on the walls so the paint was pretty smooth for it to adhere to. Was fine for several years.

If you have the borders finally under control a call to good old Ebeneezer at the HomeLandSecurityDept. would be in order, Lisa. Tell him that We are mad as hell and we are not going to take it any longer!:D Dennis

Came down next morning and it was laying on the floor. BigDogJim is correct, there was a prep that went over wallpaper, seemed to etch it, but also left mark where it etched below border. Never did get that piece to completely stick again. Wouldn't ya know it, was the most visible piece too. :mad2:
From now on no more wallpaper and/or border. Just paint. Much cheaper, easier, and won't look like crap when it starts lifting along edge. (Little children can't peel the paint off of the walls so easily either!)

well by the grace of God, the chit is still hanging here now 24 hours later. Though I am afraid of what may happen should my son fart too loudly in there

Now I'm thinking about actually hanging some stuff while Defyant's away :shake: I may actually go digging for a couple of nails and a hammer

I used activator on the back side of the self stick. Did three rooms and a bathroom (in shower area too). No issues. I don't trust the pre-paste alone. See http://wall-coverings.gillroys.com/Wall_Paper_Paste/1/2GAL_PRPASTD_ACTIVATOR-s787264.html for example.

I'm assuming this border doesn't have a peel off backing.

Wow! For someone who can photoshop a marauder paint job your having issues with peel and stick:rofl:

Sorry could not help myself, it is all in the prep work. Read everything real good before starting.:)
