Hey guys I need some help...I have the autometer Trans temp guage, and I'm installing it on a A-pillar pod. Can some tell me the best place to wire the power wire and the light wire. I don't want to tap into the guage pod on the console.
Is there any easy place I can tap in under the dash?

All my extra gauges are powered from the console pod, even the two in my pillar pod. So, I cannot help you.

Can I connect to the wires in the console pod without pulling the pod out?

No.
But it's really not hard to do. Pull back, and up with the shifter down at 1st gear. One clip on each side of the pod is all.
You can see some pics of the removed pod on my website, got to the Marauder page.

What color paint did you use to paint the pillar and the pod? I ordered the 4149H from Ray (The Dealer) and it is way to black for me. The entire pillar looks black. Is there another # I should be using?

I did not paint at all. Both are as they came.

Tap power from either the console gauges, or the Instrument cluster feed. Both use the same hot w/ ignition fused feed which is used for all the instrumentation.

I have some diagrams of the instrument cluster and console pod factory wiring here, wiring colors and purpose are noted

You could also tap illumination from the rear defrost switch harness, but it seems silly since you will be getting power at a source which also has illumination feeds right there.

Thanks Guys...I decided to wire the Trans Temp guage to the cosole guages. I was lucky, the console pod popped out easily, traced the wires and now I have interior lights and power.:)
