Does anyone know what happened to Hitchhiker "David"? I got new from his wife he is DOA. I can only asume this is the truth, is this the first passing of a MM member?:( :( :( :(
A sad note for the MM community.

Yes unfortunatally its true, I had sent him a polo shirt and the wife just sent it back asking for a refund and stateing in the note he was deceased. The links posted match up with what I know, that he was working in Kansas at the time, and that is when I last heard from him. Condolences to the family, it s a sad day to loose a MM member:bigcry:

PS I have the wife's # but can't reach her...

My condolences to Hitchhiker's family. I helped him out a few times when he needed OASIS reports for the vehicles that he was interested in purchasing. And some of them were not even Fords. He will be missed here.

Wow.

We exchanged a number of posts. He was a very good man.

I encourage everyone to make a donation to the charity listed in his obituary. Diabetes is a terrible disease and I am sad to see that it has taken one of our friends far too soon.

My prayers, thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends.

I feel fortunate to have met David and I'm really shocked to read of passing. He passed way too young. We enjoyed dinner at a local bbq joint a couple months ago. He was quite the conversationalist and had a unique sense of humor. David was supposed to be in KC into the spring working on contract so we talked about getting together again to go see the sights. Wow, it feels like it was a couple nights ago. Rest in Peace my friend. My condolences to his wife.

So sad, condolences to his family.
Diabetes is a serious thing, to those of you who haven't ever been tested for it, I suggest you do. I was diagnosed last July. One of my employees had it for years and never knew. He had an accident and injured his foot, it never healed. His leg was amputated below the knee, AND he lost the sight in one eye. He's younger than me. Since then his kidney's have failed and he's on dialisis. It's a serious issue. I have a whole new diet, dropped 35 lbs, and feel great. Along with this thread expressing our sympathies, this news is sure to help fellow members. Please visit the Doctor, before you have problems....

Y'know ... the second to last thing he said/posted in the MM communities, was to me ... wishing me well before my operation.
