This has to be a sign that the end times are near. On another note, that Falcon wagon as it sits would not be too bad IMO.

Hopefully "some of the Mustang engineering" in the Lincoln will include a mod or hurricane v-8 with 350 ponies.

It's not the first time someone suggested a Mustang fordor or a Mustang Wagon.
More than likely it's just a rumour created by a bored auto writer. But, Ford was always, King of the Station wagon. Perhaps the time for a new Station Wagon has come............... but not a Mustang version.

The Mustang was born & bred a coupe.

That's what it should remain period.

This is as bad as the people in the Oldsmobile community thinking there is nothing wrong with an Aurora being refered to a four door Toronado.

Course' I also believe the last of the real Toronado's rolled off the assembly line in 1985 with an Olds V8 ... NOT in 1992 with a Buick V6.

But that's a whole nuther' rant.

Tell you the truth, the MM version looks damn good and the other one aint that bad. Ford should have done this years ago. Re the Mustang wagon/4 door, from what Ive read its actually going to be the Aussie Falcon with a Mustang grill from that new show car. Id rather they call it a Falcon or Galaxie and not Mustang though.

If Ford makes a Marauder wagon, I'll sell my MM lol. As for the Mustang, it's disgusting. I mean, do they really want to risk killing an American icon? If you're going to make a new wagon (instead of a new 4 door full body sports car that people would buy) at least design a NEW car and don't take an existing one to add on to.

I'm almost afraid to admit this, but the yellow wagon^^^ doesn't look half bad; although the sloping roofline looks too much like a Magnum, the wagon effect as a whole is better looking than most I've seen in the last 10-15 years.

As for making a Mustang wagon, I vote NO!

A Ford spokesman has already denied the report, who knows if that's damage control with the negative reaction or if the whole thing was false/based on bad info or hearsay from the get-go.

It was a bad idea when they did it with the Cougar in the late 70's and early 80's and would be 10x worse if done with the Mustang.

Autoweek is usually pretty good, but in this case I'd say they've lost it if they believe their 'source' on this story.

But then, Cadillac does now make pickup trucks and SUVs, so does Lincoln. :(
