Ya know,
I've had some good debates with Mac, too. I often take exception with his apparent tone in posts. Then again, some people may not like my tone.
There was a time, however, Mac offered me a part... free.... for my experimentation. I didn't take him up on it, but he offerred.
Some day, I'll grow up to be a crotchety old man, too. But, like today I hope to still be generaous.
Too many are being lost.
It sux.

Nine little indians sat up very late;
One overslept himself and then there were Eight.
Eight little indians travelling in Devon;
One said he'd stay there and then there were Seven...

Is Barry/Cruztaker the other one of the original nine (9) that is missing? I just thought he stepped down from "moderating" duties. :dunno:

Did I miss something eventfull? While I didn't know Mac personally, I liked that he was pretty much one of the fairest people on the site, always able to look at both sides of something. Did he leave the site, or just step down as owner?

I exchanged PM's yesterday with another member and friend who has always helped me and I asked about Mac. Mac treated me as an old friend on our first meeting at the Dennis Reinhard Marauder Extravaganza and ever since. He always took time to offer advise, several times calling me unbidden on his nickel. He shipped me his OEM rear calipers for powder coating and would not take payment or even reimbursement for his shipping charges which were substantial. He simply asked that I pass on my OEM to the next MM project. I know that Mac had problems with some of my friends and I posted about that in a sloppily worded post that caused consternation for the moderators but that was never a challenge to my friendship with Mac.
Anyway I was told yesterday by my friend that Mac is gone and will not be back. I am sorry about that as I believe that this site was/is important to Mac (why else the 10K + posts, most of them of valued information about our shared interest?) I hope that he will reconsider. I do not miss the uproar at the time of ownership change and I am glad that is it getting over, but I miss my friend and I regret he feels he cannot participate here any longer. Dennis

This is too bad. Although I never met Mac in person, he was the first person to call me after I got to Chicago to go pick up my Marauder. I got busy and did not return the call. Then he called first thing the next morning when I was on the road driving home in my new Marauder to make sure everything went well and he was sorry he missed meeting up with me. That is a man of good character.

Mac helped me out numerous times with Marauder issues. We have spoken on the phone a few times as well. Great stand up guy. We need him back here for his extensive knowledge and experience for all us and our Marauders.. I consider him a friend as well.

I don't think I spoke up for him loud enough.
My bad. Sorry, Mac.

Why would Mac step down and leave the site? He had over 10k posts and spent a lot of time on this site, not to mention he invested a sum of cash into this site to have a hand in ownership.
Im very skeptical of him just walking away, This is is sounding like he was under fire from members and this is a way for him to gain feelback and have people spill how they really feel about him.
I never met him so I cant make a comment on what I think or thought of him in person.
Online, I don't have any issues with him
I remember when I first met Mac, he followed me to a car wash and introduced himself and proudly showed me his Kenny Brown (what a car!!) and he looked over my car and promptly gave me his and Zack's phone numbers. I can proudly say that Mac is a good friend of mine and to this day, he'll answer any and all questions asked of him!!
Like Hotrauder said.....if you needed something, Mac was there ready to hand it over free of charge and just simply ask that the OEM be passed on to another PROUD Mercury Marauder owner.

I don't know if Mac has 'walked away', is too busy with work, or just taking a break.
I do know that he has been under almost constant attack, snide remarks thrown his way, by what is really only a very small but very vocal few. Both here and publicly on other sites, not to be mentioned.
Perhaps he just needed a break from it? Who could blame him?
I doubt very much he's taking a break just so people will "spill how they really feel about him".

I enjoyed Mac. He reminded me of a few guys over at CVN. But they're nothing like him. And Sal, you're right he could always look at both sides, and give both sides advice. He was knowledgeable too and he must come back.

I always liked the way he was fighting to focus on facts, away from subjectives opinions. He his also a true gentlemen from what i've seen. Just hope his disapearance is temporary.
On a side note, i have a friend who is having some success in small business. He recently told me how difficult it was to get along with just one partner. I guess here, as a 9 persons partnership, the difficulties to get a clear and distinct leadership must be quite a challenge.
This site is still a jewel. I just hope the problem(s) will be solved with the coming Christmas spirits.
I'll do the first step: I love Vortec and Trilogy guys even if i have a Procharger !! :)

I sure hope he's just taking a break.
Gotta be tough to moderate this group. Too much or not enough, how do you get the right mix? Stresses me out just thinking about it with some of the recent threads.

Not missing...just detoxing.
Mac has apparently went cold turkey. Good for him.
I should be off the Methadone by New Years.:P
Can't wait to be free of this addiction.
I like to see these good words for him, as he WAS a good person...pushed to the limit by a-holes such as my myself.

I'll miss your sense of humor and your contributions here. :( Thanks for your hospitality as we passed through enroute to MV III in Detroit. Hope to see you around Marauderland. Be well and take care, Barry !!
