My MM has a 3yr/45k Premium Maintenance Plan that expires later this month.

Can I purchase an extension?

Just to clarify this is a maintenance plan I'm talking about and NOT the extended warranty plan.

Well if it can be extended Ford sure doesn't advertise it. I've read thru all my paperwork and visted the Ford website but found no mention of a maintenance plan extension.

But then again after I saw the price of the original plan I'm not so sure its worth it.

I would like to know the answer to that question as well.

Asked the dealer today and the answer was "nope, it's a one shot deal".

Yes. On my extended warranty brochure I noticed it mentioned the maintenance plan. I'll have to dig it out of my mess to writw what is on it.

With as much money Ford made on this maintenance plan you would think they would be wanting to extend it.

The original owner paid $900 for the 3yr/36k plan. I paid an additional $50 to have it transfered into my name.

So for the $950.00 this is what Ford did:

6 oil changes
1 set of wiper blades

My LM dealer advertises oil changes at $19.95 so six oil changes comes to $119.70 plus $20 for the wiper blades for a total of $139.70

Let's see now...

$950.00 Ford Took In
-$139.70 Ford paid Out
---------
$810.30 pure profit for Ford

Maybe Edsel can explain why Ford doesn't want to extend maint plans.

Remember it was the original owner who paid the $900 and not me.
