Anyone have a "unique whips" type quality sound system layout in the trunk. I'd like to see some examples with maybe some custom fiber glass enclosures. Anyone could just bolt down some subs and an amp in their trunk but I think its important to still have alot of trunk space for those long summer road trips. I've seen some of those ricers with a damn car show in itself in the trunk. I'd like to see some of the MMs out there with the right set up:)

I dunno how unique it is but it is loud. Making some fiberglass enclosure in the bottom of the trunk is just going to rattle your trunk. Putting the subs up on the ledge underneath the rear deck is going to fire the sound into the cab.

Trust me. I've had both setups.

What if I gut out one of those trunk organizers? Then I could leave it open so the bass goes out and the rare time the trunk is full I could close the trap door. The amp could be mounted where the spare tire and the 6x9s are

I'm just saying that having it in the trunk- no matter what direction you face it- will not sound nearly as loud in the cab as having it up on the deck. It's a little annoying that you have to move the spare down to the main trunkspace and it's a few 100 bucks to get a custom enclosure made but it's worth it.
I think the best thing to do is to visit an audio shop and see what they think would work for you.

good idea
I just have to find the right place...money would help too. At least I got it off the road and I have the whole winter to think about it

Not sure if this is what you want to see or not, but there it is. Scroll down to see the trunk photos.
Couple photos of one of the MMs at MVIV with custom sound and NO2 in trunk.

Try this. This keeps my mini spare under the floor with room to spare. It added very little weight to the car. I will be at the picnic in February where everyone can see it. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=10 486&d=1165180670
