I put a new chrome grille on my Excursion today. It kinda blends in with the chrome on the door molding and chrome wheels. I'm liking it right now. (The original grille was painted to match the body color.)

Any opinions? Leave it chrome, or paint it to match the body color?

OK. This is what the original grille looked like. The new grille is of a different style (2005+ Ford Super Duty grille)

I like the new grill however i would paint it to match as it would "stand" out and draw more attention. Too much chrome is loud.

I stick w/ Bigdogjim...Chrome design in the body color is a nice departure...chrome looks a bit much on that design...kinda "Dodgy" (my nomenclature) remember less is more....but with a bolder design...

Unless this is an heirloom piece, try the new grille...believe it or not the bolder alternative grille in body color lessens the "Dodginess". Also, if Greene County is in Texas...then let me just shut up right now...

Even though it doesn't show up in the images very well, the new chrome grille has the dark gray
honeycomb inserts. I like the honeycomb, so I will probably stick with it. Looks like this...

I wish 11. :shake:

Getting 8.3 to 8.5 in city driving. But with the air conditioning on, about 6.5 mpg.

I have done no long distance highway driving yet so I don't know what it might be. Maybe 11. :coolman:

Well, if you do as much driving as I do then you must be loaded to afford fuel with those MPGs.

Hi Sheriff
The chrome grill looks great. I thought the new style grill was not interchangeable with the pre 2005 model. Is this a ford part? Do you have the part number?
I would like to replace the grill on my Excursion to the new chrome style.
thanks for you response
