Over the last 2 weeks, I have seen 4 test vehicles - all Fords - all with Mich lic plates.

They were all painted flat balck and had vinyl covering the car - to disguise it. These were Ford test vehicles for future models.

Do you think they had a meeting in LA?

These cars all had computers on the dash, rear wheels had calibrators on them.

Can you imagine having that job of driving a test vehicle across the country.

Can you imagine that someone out there was paid to do this with a Marauder???

What a great job that would be.

I've seen the Mustang all over the place here in the last few weeks - completely wrapped and "disguised" with that black material that breaks up the car's lines to hide it from the public...but it's definitely the Mustang.

I've done some of it. It can be fun, but mostly it is WORK. Generally, these guys are on the road more than they are home! They go to hot places when they are the hottest, to cold places when they are the coldest. An 8 hour work day? forget it. IMO, it's one of the toughest jobs in the company.

Some people like it, I can't stay on the road that long...

Also, usually the cars are shipped out to specific locations to conduct specific testing. If Ford doesn't have a test facility there, they'll sometimes "borrow" a couple of bays from a dealer service dept.

Oh, I'd also be interesed in seeing some pics...If possible.
