That style was pioneered by Mike Lavallee. "True Fire" as I recall.

This one wasn't done by Mike Lavallee, they copied his style.
There was an episode on "Rides" about Lavallee. They showed the helicopter, the Hummer, the Lightning and the boat. The owner of the helicopter told a story of flying the copter and landing behind a restuarant for dinner. As he was landing, people saw the copter and thought it was crashing, they thought it was really on fire, and called the fire dept. The owner had some 'splainin to do !
