Got the new motor running last night, took it in for a tune bright & early this morning. As I expected, the twin Cobra fuel pumps with BAP were maxed out. Made 660 hp, 555 tq (converter locked), only ran it up to about 6800 rpm. Boost topped out at 15 lb, max timing was 17 degrees. Lots more power in this motor, gonna run on this tune for breakin. Next power mod will be fuel pumps and a re-tune. After that, the only thing I can do with the current blower is swap from a 3.90 pulley to a 3.40, otherwise it'll overspin the impeller. With the fuel system mods I'll be over 700.
That's on PUMP GAS, NO NITROUS!
This thing is a hoot to drive, gotta be careful though. Try to get out in traffic and it's easy to get in the way of traffic instead because it jumps plumb sideways when you punch it! Cruising around 70-80 and punch it, it breaks the tires loose. Gonna be really scary in the rain.

Very nice numbers you have there. If you do upgrade to the smaller 3.40 pulley what kind of numbers would yu be expecting there? Good to see it is all together though, I'm sure it will be a nightmare for many on the strip.
Spectacular  numbers Brian. Send me a P.M. if you are looking for a home for the old fuel pumps. Looks like you will have a monster at SSH7 in November.

WOW! 660 HP and more to go. I guessed 700 HP. I bet it will easily top that with the new fuel pumps and a retune.

Super job! I would love to see a dyno chart.
What tires will you be running to get it to hook up?

That is unbelievable. Congrats on all the hard work. I can just now spin my tires for the first time from a dead stop, but no way when I am up to speed. Would love to have even 450-475 in mine.

Nice job. Something doesn't sound right though. Twin stock 03 Cobra pumps WITH a BAP should easily handle 660rwhp. I just did an 03 Cobra with a twin screw, stock pumps, and BAP and made 630rwhp and I only had the BAP on 10%.
What was happening that told you you're out of fuel system?

Yes, twin GT pumps with the BAP and separate feed-thru connections out of the hat, then separate filters, then a y-block to 1/2" hard line to the front where it changes to the -8AN lines.

FPDC at 92%. BAP wide open, setup to run full-time, upgraded wiring, modified FPDM. Stock fuel lines to the fuel filter, then it switches to the bigger line.
edit: It's setup for 50 lb deltaP across the 60 lb/hr injectors. Probably not necessary for now, but it will be soon enough.

Veryt nice Brian--scary though....but you can handle it......mine breaks loose too when punching it at high speeds........don't all S/C'ers? If not I guess it must be those with higher HP that do---anywho.....great numbers and be careful breaking her in---make sure your headed in a straight line before lowering the pedal--

Hmm, weird. I did an 04 Cobra a while back with an F1R on it that made 660rwhp with stock pumps and BAP and it wasn't pegged.
In any case, a switch to twin Aviator or GT pumps should solve it.

You are considering that this engine has increased displacement, right? It's a 324 BB/S.

Not sure what happened to Tom's comment on the 3.50 pulley, thanks for the offer. Not sure how it would work with the pulley/belt setup as I'm running a k081177 belt and getting just a slight amount of slip between 6200 and 6500 rpm. Next smaller size is k081153, not sure if I can work out a way to make that belt fit with the smaller pulley.

Pro Line Race Engines in Woodstock, GA built it and did all the machining except two jobs, the head porting and the block machining for sleeve installation.
No trades, sorry.

Yes. It'll be nice to see if anybody else notices any difference in the exhaust tone. I really don't hear it but if we have something to compare it with maybe we'll hear something.

Great job Brian! Should be good for 700+ hp when you can get fuel to that sucker!
I started to run short of fuel also in the 640-650 HP range and did the twin GT pumps. That will make the difference. Don't think I could handle your HP though!! See ya at the Cracker Barrel.

Hey Brian,
I bought a used fuel pump assembly from a guy on Ebay and with all the "Chatter" about 90* bends and the fuel filter setup.....I just happened to notice that the metal fuel line coming from the pump makes TWO 90* and TWO 45*(?) bends BEFORE the connection to the flex line that goes to the filter!!!:argue: It appears the tubing becomes VERY restricted in the 90* bends (may be 50% smaller there)??
If I were to believe the "Flow Restriction" theory I'd have to start right here and somehow improve this arrangement before worrying about the 90* connections at the filter!!:shake:
See Photo!!
Could this be the culprit in your setup??
Good Luck!!:D

You've got close to the same power I have with MadMax, just opposite numbers (mine makes more torque then hp). And my car is pretty useless on the street. Even with the Hoosier QTPs on it, it will burn through all of first and most of second.
