This happened to me today, driving in a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu.
I did a rear window defrost repair on the defroster tab with a kit from Permatex.
My Service buddy called both senarios:
First repair attempt;
The mix never got hard. problem; old chemicals
solution ;e-mail company and complain about the ten dollars wasted
(actually $8.??)
Get a new kit in the mail , a few days later,...
Second repair attempt;stuck like rock solid! yeah!
Connected the wire today before leaving , there was a small amount of moisture on the bottom third of the glass.
I touch the rear defroster button and proceed on my way.
About ten minutes later, there is a huge explosion to my rear, that scares the livin' crap out of me!
I was told, I used too much adhesive.
I used the one drop, recommended.
I do admit , I was warned.
