Didn't they have a Lincoln Mark VIII do an 8.99 at SSHS6 in November. I thought that I saw that on Merc's DVD. Maybe it was somewhere else. :D

Well, seeing as that guy peddlin' Kool-Aid ran a 10.65 @ 107 mph with a freakin' blown-up engine, I'd say a 9-second Marauder ain't far away.
Think of that 10.65 / 107 combo. An e.t. like that is usually accompanied by a 130mph trap speed... so if ol' #1 hadn't decided to take a break at the half-way point, it's hard to imagine the mph's wouldn't have been much higher and the e.t. a bit lower.
The next round should be fun to watch... sounds like Marty or JB could be there with just a shot of good luck!

So What!....
My NAWZ'd VTEC Si 4 door Civic will run that.....EASY.
And once I get my new 747 wing mounted on the trunk and TYPE R stickers in the rear window, I'll be running 8's!!!
Besides, my friend of a friend of a friend has a 1,200 HP Supra!

Yep. If it were flat...it would have been a 10.3.

I think that is one of Keith Mease's creations, he has been putting Impalas and buick regals into the 9s for a long time. And for far less money than we can do it for.

Not so sure about that. It looks like a sanctioned track. Both the NHRA and the IHRA have rules about track layout regarding "downhillness." (Yeah, I made up that word, poor tired brain won't let me find the right one). Most tracks I've been to have a slight down slope to the racing area, then a rise in the shutdown area to help slow things down. I think that combination may be creating a little bit of an optical illusion.
