No Way dude. I could give him a better deal for half the price on a slighty used Marauder.

The winning bid was actually 5mil even, but the winner pays 10% to B-J (as does the seller, yep- B-J got 1 mil for that sale).
CSX 3015 was the first of two twin paxton supersnakes, built on a comp car setup. It was built for Carroll himself, which is one of the reasons for the worth of the car. The car has been restored, it was originally black. It's also unique in the fact that it's got an auto trans in it.
The "other" supersnake was CSX 3303. This was built on a street car setup, for Carroll's good friend Bill Cosby. Carroll guaranteed Cosby the car would do 200 mph, and it had a plaque on the dash stating so. The car was so fast and dangerous that Cosby gave the car back to Shelby soon after getting it. Not long after, one of the car's new owners crashed the car off a cliff and was killed. Years later, what was left of the wreckage was sent to Brian Angliss at AC cars to be rebuilt. CSX 3303 still exists today, although there is not really anything on it from the original car. It sparks much contraversy in the Cobra world, and if you watched the Barrett Jackson, you heard Carroll discredit the current form of that car. BTW, 3303 was supposed to be sold this same weekend, right down the road from the B-J at the Russo and Steele auction. It was pulled from the auction lineup several weeks before the auction.
BTW, Cosby did a comedy album called "200 mph" in the 70s about this car. If you get a chance, try to listen to it.

I got that album when it came out - I think my brother has it down in Houston. It is funny when he describes how his Italian racing shoes turned into canvas sneakers after he scared the **** out of himself the first time he drove the car!

I saw the BJ auction when that car was up on the block. It broke the record for highest bid in the auction history.
Over 5 million for the car is insane but then again, someone paid $600,000 for the New Shelby GT Vin# 001, Which included a Custom Fender Strat Guitar, and first dibs to buy The Shelby GT Vin# 002 for sticker price.

It was the same guy (Ron Pratte) ;).
He is also the guy who bought the 4 million dollar bus last year, as well as the first 07 GT500 Mustang last year.
