I don't think that's an indication of problems, but they may be test engines, engines taken out of in-transit damaged cars, or QC rejected engines that they are obtaining and selling.

price actually seems to ask a little high to me. 2001 cobra motors are selling for 3k. with steel forged crank and all it just wouldnt make sense.

MPS has MM engines for $2750.00. They'll tell you exactly where they came from, they are listed as new. MPS has a good rep. www.stangparts.com.
