I have about 2-3 inches of clearance on each side through the opening of my garage.
Once it's inside there is pretty much just enough room for the MM, and I have to squeeze myself out of the car because I can't open the door all the way........It's almost a chore to park it in the garage everyday, but I would rather it was inside than out in the wheather..
I can't wait to have a huge garage so I can put all of my cars and tools in it!!:)

Do you have to put vasoline on the fenders to get it into the garage?

"WOW", that looks more like a storage facility than a garage.

I quess it doesn't matter, as long as it's in from the elements.

i must say, i do have that tight of squeeze, i fold in my driers side mirror to get in. Wouldnt be so bad if the other person would park farther over...but they never do.

I live in a fifty year old house that originally had a mostly open carport, judging by our neighbor's house. It was mostly closed in before the house came into my family in the seventies except for a garage door, so during renovations I had a door added. The wife occupies the garage with her stang full time, but once when she was out of town I squeeeeezed the Marauder in there. :) Have to watch both sides going in or out, but not quite as tight as in your photo. Lengthwise clearance is my problem. About two inches clearance each end with the garage door down. If I was going to park in there every day I'd have to invest in one of those thingies that tells you where to stop. I suck at judging distances with the MM.

Yeak, I know that one....but I am a geek, it's required that I have something electronic!!!! Not very likely that the wife will relinquish her parking spot anytime soon though. LOL

I will see if I can borrow a camera from someone so I can show you what a full garage looks like

Was it built in 1907?

the door makes it even tighter to drive into. Could you change out for a door that would be at least full garage width? Make the area a little wider by header off the existing outer wall and construct lean-to arrangement out the side?

that's too tight, sneeze and the car side is gone

The guy next to me has a 06 Mustang and it's amazing how much easier it is for him to get in and out........

I have been doing it for sometime now with no problems....I just take my time.....It's all I have to work with for now, as you can probably tell I live in an apartment and that is all that is available........it's either that or park it outside with all the other cars....this way I know there will be no door dings, and the wheather won't get to it.

Good lord, Mike. Any tighter, you won't get out. Put some foam around the posts near the doors. If you accidently open the doors to much or to fast, the foam will protect it.

You need to cut yourself a hole in the side of that garage
and put a sliding door for you to get out.

That looks familiar. My Uncle George retired from the Chicago Fire Department as a Battalion Chief. His detail was the 18th Battalion and when he was on tour he was at Engine Co. 84, Truck Co. 51 and the 18th Battalion. This was a firehouse that was designed by Frank Llyod Wright and built in 1929. As you can well imagine the overhead doorways were tall and narrow, designed for vehicles back in the day. His buggy (that's what we call the chief's car) was a Crown Victoria and he kept a 1" daimeter pole in his front seat so that when he pulled out of the bay going on a run he would have the passenger window down and use the pole to push out the side view mirror.

Geez, you gotta be careful what you eat, or you're not gonna fit either !

" Hi Boss? Yeah I won't be able to make it to work today. I ate a big meal last night and I can't fit in the garage to get my car out !"

Nope. I have a garage thats about 4 feet wider than that and I consider it too tiny to do anything in. Yikes!

Yep...barely wide enough to pull in, it's an 8x8 door the, Harley is at my buddies and every thing else is stowed overhead or on the walls. Pleny of room once in...buuuut, its better than having it sit on the street in the snow and SALT. No worries...it will only be inside 3 months....
