Thought I might share a photo I took of my baby.

Did a little fuel calculation too.

500km @ 120 Km/h (~78mph) gave me 9.4 l/100km or 23 MPG

250km @ 90 KM/h gave 6.2 L/100 km or 31MPG.

Just FYI...

Enjoy the glamour shot! And how do I post to the gallery? Am I having a blonde moment?

Hey! I resemble that remark! :P
Man, that's great mileage. I've had mine a month and have just surpassed 4000 miles on it and I regularly get 20mpg @ 78mph; 17mpg if I horse it. :burnout:

You might be having a blonde moment.

4500kms is a lot more than 1800 miles.

4500 X .621 = ?

LOL.:D

I had to slow it down through Jasper National Park, as the limit is 90 km/h. Don't want to be hitting an 1000 kilo elk, at any speed! But the milage is great! Those mountain roads sure get the power steering hot though!

Took her up to 120 - 130 outside of the park, for 500 km or so. Good long stretch.

Bummer is that I got a mega rock chip, that split my windshield about 5 cm yesterday, about 20 cm this morning and it's now from the bottom left corner all the way to my rear view mirror this afternoon. Looks like new front glass for the baby...

Doc,

Would ya please speak english for us non-metric fools down here?;) I don't have a clue if your windshield crack is the size of a Quarter or the size of Kansas (or Alberta).

:D

Sorry to hear about the windscreen. Nice pic, though.

5cm = ~2 inches
20 cm = ~1 foot

It's half my windshield diagonally right across the drivers side; it's not a crack anymore, it's a fault line. Just from one teeny little rock.

Sorry about the metric, it's just what I'm used to. Feel free to use the pic. Since all our cars look pretty much the same, who's to say it's not yours? :lol:

Doc - A windshield replacement is better than paint work. Make sure you get a FMCO windshield not some after market brand.

Dr. Caleb,

I think your still having a blonde moment when it comes to this conversion thing.
5800kms = 3601 miles, not 3400 miles.LOL
Glad you are enjoying the car and it sounds like a fun trip.

Be thankful the rock didn't hit your paint.
Much rather replace a windshield than to have someone cutting on and painting a beautiful new paint job.

My car may look the same but unfortunately, my view does not. We're mired down here in the Great Dismal Swamp :cry:

True, I would rather replace the windshield, with OEM, but it's not in the budget right now. Can't afford $600 for a new one, but I can afford $60 to repair the crack. Had it done on Saturday. (My insurance deductible is $500 for the glass, but the repair is free with insurance.)

It's a good job. I can no longer see the crack from the drivers side, but there are two small spots - about the size of small rock chips - where they 'welded' the glass. They use a polymer sealant to fuse the crack back together. The crack can be seen from the side, but not by looking straight through the glass. A good job, I think.

Yea, I estimate badly. (I gone too skool to be an engeneer, now I are one.) I figure I'm just going to drive it more and it'll change again, so why be too accurate? :-)
