I bought both today and heres what I thought...

Now I know how closely related DR2000 and Rock N' Roll High School are since they both have a lotta the same actors and same director I think. The movie to me almost seems like something from the past like how in Rome people would watch people die in that dome every weekend or something. Same in this movie. Death is now again a sport. The cars look like hot wheels cars, but I don't care I love them and the only one I could make out was Frankenstens car which was a Corvette and whatever Mustang was chasing him. Still a fun one and I'll probably watch it over and over. At times it looked like it was going to turn into a porno or something, which I wouldn't have minded. :D

The Car was pretty cool too, but I liked Christine more... maybe because of the music, since I love those oldies so much. The Car was a total thriller and that car looked real slick too. The plot was cool to me being just random killings, but like Back To The Future I think I'll have to watch it a few times to fully understand whats going on. Again I loved how The Car looked, if I can afford it someday I wanna make a reproduction of that car outta 1971 Lincoln just like it!

Thats it for now!

Yea, The Car was pretty interesting. I believe in Canada and overseas it was called "Deathmobile" instead of The Car. Sounds a lot cooler and would make me want to watch it more lol.

I think "Deathmobile" was the name of the car in Animal House after they "tweeked" it. :D

Yeah, If I ever find an old Continental that's been rolled I definetly want to make one of those.

I know that, but look on imdb.com. It's right after the cast:
http://imdb.com/title/tt0075809/
Says Deathmobile right there.

I read in Car Craft magazine that the cars used in Death Race 2000 were all fiberglass bodied Volkswagons and that all the cars were built in just a couple weeks. Their sound and performance is all "movie magic".

I read something last night that said they all started as 1971 Lincolns, but didn't say what model. 4 were built and I think it was a Mark if you look at the hood. It was built and designed by the same guy who gave us The Ghostbuster and Back To The Future cars... along with many others. What was your source Leadfoot281?

I believe some on the Death race 2000 cars were actually Bradley GT's (VW chassis w/ fiberglass body) that had some extra's added to them. I'll have to watch it again to see which ones.

It was called 'The Car' in Scotland.

That was a Mark III? Hmm. I had always thought it was a Mark IV underneath. Learn something every day.
