Does the DR tune clean up the trans shift issues that Lidio's tune claims to do?Just wondering trying to decide which one to get

Yes, it significantly improves the shift schedule.
My car has been running a DR tune for 72,500 miles. She does not burn a drop of oil. After putting 30K S/C miles & 50 runs down the 1,320 I had her Dyno Tuned and she put down virtually the same numbers!

From what others have posted they both are improvements over the stock.
Do a search and see which tune has higher hp gains.
Several members have said they prefer the Alternative shift schedule, specifically the OD.
Others have said they prefer the DR shift schedule.
I beleive DR gives free upgrades to the original owner, but best to check w/ him.

I have had BOTH.
BOTH improve the shifting over stock....DRAMATICALLY!
BOTH say they increase HP and TQ....but the new Shifting Schedule is what you notice.
I think each one of them goes at it a little bit differently. Not sure exactly what each do exactly, but...they BOTH end up near the same place ;)
Either way....you'll be happy :D

I chose DR to purchase my xcal2 and tune from because of his t-shirt when he visited one of our local meets.....

Gotta love it! I like his tune, also!! Kicked myself for not buying one much sooner.

I read the Lidio specs. It turns off TCC lockup until over 63 mph. This seems like a bandaid fix instead of tuning the TCC tables to still be active at lower speeds, but not intrusive. Does DR's tune still keep TCC active at speeds lower than highway cruise? I don't want to eliminate TCC altogether in city driving because it will keep the trans cooler and give better gas mileage. It's just that the stock TCC routine is so obtrusive and cumbersome that it is very noticeable when you want to step on it.

I love the way the TC is setup.... It makes the car alot more responsive when its in gear without downshifting.

I agree....63 is too high and I set my SCT tune to lock only in 4th at 45 MPH but later settled on 50 MPH and it was perfect for my driving!! :bows:
When I installed the blower I had Dave setup my trans management like the SCT tune and was very happy until he sent me HIS blower tune that locks the TC in 3rd at 40 MPH (light throttle and OD OFF) and in 4th at 43-45 MPH under light throttle.....VERY IMPRESSIVE AND FUEL EFFICIENT!!!:D
I have been running this tune for about 6 months now and it is just right for any driving style as the TC unlocks at about half throttle so 4-3 downshifts NEVER involve the TC and you don't have to constantly turn the OD OFF to pass someone from 4th in TC LOCK!!!:bows:
We've come a LOOOOOOONG way since 2002 with these cars!!

I have had both tunes in my 04'. I think the difference is obvious, to me anyway. Lidio's tune is easier on the car while DR's was more agressive. I felt better all around drivability with Lidio's but a bit more power and snappier shifting(at wot - which is also dangerous on a stock trans) with the DR. Just my:twocents: ,

What he said. But I must add, the DR tune did make for a fun drive, it just didnt suit my needs for the amount of driving I do...

Another consideration is what your long term goals might be. If you think you will have a S/C in the future.... perhaps consider who you will be getting the S/C from then let that guide where you get your Xcal from.
I have Lidio's tune and specified that I wanted my TC locked by 50 mph. Lidio tuned it the way I wanted it. I chose Lidio because I had determined I was going with the Trilogy S/C package and Lidio supports it.
