The footage of the New Smyrna Speedway? [Archive]

So what happened to the footage from the New Smyrna Raceway:cry: ?

As far as I remember, DVJ5150 shot the footage, but I thought he gave up the clip to put on the MV IV DVD. :bows: The Lucky 13 drivers and attendees did view the clip right after the race:banana2: , so we know it does exist. So what happened:dunno: ?

Now I'm questioning my memory because I thought DVJ5150 shot the vid from his car, and I thought someone else shot it from the stands. Again I'm questioning my memory since :run: my Adrenalin flow was a bit high at that time.

Your memory serves you right. I was disappointed as well. However, we already have two DVD's loaded with footage. A third (New Smyrna) would be great!

AS I said before. I never received the footage otherwise it would have been on the DVD video. I too was looking forard to seeing it.:mad:

Hi all,

I was sooooooo looking forward to seeing the videos from New Smyrna Speedway. I know there was a passenger head rest mounted video camera in one car and also a passenger held video camera in another car. (My wife took a few still shots from the stands but I was hoping someone else did, too!)

I actually took a look on YouTube to see if someone already posted it but did not see it. There are some Marauder videos on there plus some footage from New Smyrna Speedway (racecars) but nothing with the "Lucky 13."

I know the footage exists. My own daughter shot 1/2 of it. I'm waiting for a copy from 2 different sources. When I receive it, screw YouTube, it's going on ssm.net!

I am trying to hold my patience as well.

I thought copies were being sent to the racers....and I was just lucky to have Al send me a copy earlier.......mine is in the hands of fastblackmerc..(Jim)...to get copies of.....cause I don't have a method for doing that......so I take it no one else had a copy????? gheeeee...I didn't know.......maybe fastblackmerc (Jim) can post up what the cost of getting copies so others can have one..........I'll find out......Tom

I'll definitely take one! I had expected it to be on the Marauderville IV DVDs. They were great but no "Lucky 13" footage.

Got it Friday. There was notes all over the envelope regarding address confusion. My neighborhood is new, so no surprise. See above post, baby!

you need to use the whole URL. Try this. Cool video! Id sure like to see them going around the track from the stands if that was filmed too! At the very end you see part of it but it cuts off. I should have went with you guys that night dammit! Next time.

Your right--the video is great --but all film has a problem dublicating real life-----but I know 13 folks who know how it felt............more wild than it looked--and I think the reason is the race track is banked so high--maybe 25-30 degrees--this makes it look like we are not so fast--but we were--and we were larger cars for a small track--anyway--it was alot of fun--hope all do enjoy it--I do --over and over and over,...........Tom

I was the SB lead vehicle and when I put the hammer down and threw caution into the wind I was almost expecting to get thrown off of the track but to my delight the fans in the stands loved it. To the MMers whom chickened out...YOU blew it...This was the absolute best time I have had in my MM...I hope to see you all in Sebring for the SVTOA track meet april 22nd...WIMPS need not apply.....

I have Marauderman's copy, if anyone wants a copy on DVD send me a PM. Cost will be $5.00 including shipping. It will be about 3 weeks until I'll be able to ship them as I'll be on a business trip.

Im so mad that I didnt go to this. Just thought it was going to be some 30 mph lap around the track, seemed like a better idea to chill at the hotel. Boy was I wrong, you guys were so pumped when you got back from the track. I think I heard a quote similar to this, "Out of all the things that Ive done in my life this will rank up in the top things that I will never forget!" Yea Im regretting not going. :banghead:
