... A Marauder!

Too bad I haven't found one in the Fayetteville, NC area. I want to check one out in person, but the closest I can get is a Grand Marquis. Anyone know of a MM in the central NC area for sale? What about suggestions for a long distance purchase? Anything like an independent inspection service to check out a vehicle so I don't have to fly cross-country just to be disappointed?

I'm looking to be sub-20k, and I'm not sure if I want a stock original or someone's modification (like the 03 in the classifieds posted by Zack). Either way, I think I'm going to make the move in the coming months.

Hopefully, I'll find one, fall in love, and not get too many tickets ;)

Don't limit yourself by geography. Look all over the country. There are people on MM.NET who can help you evaluate a car in their area. Many of us would happy to help. Airfare, or even busfare, is cheap enough that buying a car from another state isn't a real problem.

Hang in there. Keep checking eBay, autotrader.com, MM.net, etc. It took me almost 2 years to find my dream Marauder, but I finally did find it, and it was only 3 hours away to boot.

Should be no problem finding a nice one for under 20k.

It's mislabeled as a Marquis, but link is to an '04 SB Marauder at Capital Ford in Raleigh. I saw it in November, looked clean on a cursory inspection but it was *just* out of my price range. (Got my '03 SB with slightly more mileage in Durham for 18,700...) Could be worth the drive, eh?

I remember driving 4 hours just to check out "the one". It's a small price to pay for having a car where people ask, "what's that?". Should've seen the reaction of the Vehicle Inspector at the CA DMV...

Good luck with your search!

While I'm pretty sure I'm going to find myself a MM in the coming months, the question is whether or not I want stock or modified. I'm not a big wrencher, nor do I have the facilities to do any work. Zack's looks like it has alot of work done to it, and for a great price. But what if one of those high-end mods goes out? I'm stuck with a broken MM with big repair bills. On the other hand, 443HP kicks ass :)

Also, I haven't been able to find any of the videos. I've searched for legend, zack, marader, mm, etc, etc, and no luck. Links?

Thanks, but I'm diggin the black over the other colors.

I'll definitely be putting out the call when I make the move to buy. It's great knowing there's a bunch of folks out there willing to do a favor.

Okay, I did see that vid in my searches earlier. I also saw a forum post here about how the MM can make a grown man giggle like a little kid...

That's me :)

Does this site have a link to point members and owners where they can buy stock in their favorite tire company? If I got that car, I'd need to buy ALOT of stock.

What I'm looking to hear is some of the honest downsides to buying someone else's built up monster like that. I can list thousands of upsides, but downsides tend to cost more :( And what sort of life does a build like that have? Has it already been "worn out" and would I be getting sloppy seconds? No offense to Zack and whoever built it, but it's a general question.
