It figures that this stuff happens on the coldest day of the year. The driver side window on my girlfriend's 02 grand am gt fell into the door last night. That's the second time the clip on the window regulator has broken in 4 months, but thankfully that's under warranty. Her heater won't work unless it's set on full blast. I was just seeing if anyone around here knows what's wrong(resistor?switch?) or has fixed this themselves. I have the day off tomorrow and was hoping to get that fixed for her. Thanks for the the help.

The blower motor resistor is bad.

would replacing the resistor be a project? I've never had this problem before.

On this one.......nope. It looks like it is under the right side dash behind the glove box. I believe there is a cover that has to be removed to get to it.

Yep, that'll do it. Looks like someone's done that before. :)

BTW is it a V6? Hows the LIM gasket?

Lower intake manifold gasket. They are notorious for early failure, either leaking coolant externally or worse, internally into the oil.

My sisters '02 went through 2 of them in 50,000 miles. I sold my '01 with 90k on the clock and it was fine though showed some external seepage.

I did the job on my sisters car, it's not too bad but pretty labor intensive.

Other than that it's a great car! I really did like mine.

Huh... Same thing happened to my '96 Blazer's 4.3 Vortec V6....it blew the driver's side LIM gasket...leaked off the back of the cylinder head onto the exhaust pipe, luckily not into the lifter valley.
