Got this from another site. I think its pretty nice and assuming it comes with a 400 hp V8, a nice package altogether.

Might be nice on the road. Though personally, I am not attracted by the "suppository design" of the last Pontiac (the G6 coupe among others).

Yeah, It doesnt do anything for me either... Kinda like the Gto. Just a bland design that you see too much of today.

First, I appologize if anyone takes offense to this but wtf? This is GM's new Zeta platform, which was developed in Australlia btw which cost GM $1billion to develop and which will also serve as the platfrom for the new Camaro. Anything built on this platform, including the G8, will be of the absolute highest quality completely outclassing anything else in its field.

In Australlia, the Holden Commodore, the sister car of the upcomming G8, was nominated car of the year by Wheels Magazine beating out BMW 3 series, Toyota Avalon, and many others. If anything, THIS is the car to watch! This car will shame any equivelent Ford or Mopar product, including our beloved panthers and the LX cars. I know most of you think I'm out of my mind now ;) but when this thing hits showrooms later this year, you will all be singing a different tune. How does a 400 hp LS2 V8 with a six speed manual in a sleek four door body with fully independent front and rear susspension sound for a price of about $35,000?

This is what most of us here essentially want. Keep in mind, in other Aussie magazines, the Commodore has been tested against BMW 550i's and Mercedes E classes costing more than twice as much and has still bested them in both performance and price.

Looks bland as stated before. Ford has to bring over, or base some vehicles on the FPV platform.

GTO and Nissan Maxima blend, but I'm betting it looks better in person.

Pontiacs always do inmho........ Should be interesting.

Thanks for the find Vortex:banana2:

Thank you Zeta platform...may be just what the Dr. ordered for GM. Now if only Ford can come up with an appropriate response? Maybe?

The interior looks similar to the GTO (I used to own one). I still dont understand why these cant be built domestically but I guess they have lots of production capability in Adelaide. They already export to the middle east. Even if the GTO wasnt a big hit, I like what GM is doing using Pontiac as the more performance oriented branch of the GM tree as I dont think Chevy gets this intil the Camaro.
I will add that on my wish list are still the new Challenger and the new Camaro. I wish also GM would split the grille on the Camaro, put in a T-Top and come out with a new Firebird. Id be the first in line (once I sell my GTO!) Re Ford, well, the Mustang is too small for me and I dont like anything Ive seen in the pipeline so far (including that bulgemobile at the show right now).

Holden does indeed have world class cars in it's stable. Ford FPV cars race these regularly and do well. For me, I think Ford would be smart to bring over some of that FPV design to the plants here and show us some 'unique' (at least to we Americans) and exciting designs. Wouldn't such a move fall under 'restucturing'?
Who knows? I'm just a car guy, not an airline executive running a car company....

They will be built in Canada eventually but for now, Gm just wants to get it to the market asap and I can't blame them. I know the Camaro and the Impala will be built Oshwa, at least according to GM Inside News. Magindat, I'm glad I'm not the only Holden fan here. Nice pun on Mullay BTW, lol!

That can't be a Pontiac. It doesn't have 3 acres of plastic crap glued to it.

Pontiac is moving away admirably from the Plastic Nightmare that they used to love so much. The G6 is a very clean design, now this one too.

I wonder if their interiors have gotten any better? I couldn't stand the mid 90's to early 00's Pontiac interiors...round vents, orange lighting, and weird designs...ack.

And when it gets to the shores of the USA, our Government will choke the living S**T out of it...

The car design is Aussie. But it should use the LS2 which is plenty american.

Considering the government hasnt "choked" the corvette, GTO, or trailblazer SS i think the G8 is probably fairly safe. I might really want one of these. an 05-06 GTO is up there on the dream list with a marauder.
