This mountain road in Bolivia may be a little tricky. But it will "weed out" the skitish driver's among us. ;) The one with 2-way truck traffic is unbelievable. So are the distance shots of the side cliffs.

The History Channel will air a program on "Death Road" at 11 PM, Monday 12 February 2007.

I officially want nothing to do with that road. :) Even worse than the road is some of the cars that drive on it - mainly due to the economy there.

There was a show in Discovery channel where a guy drove that road. They showed that many cars there are driven with broken suspension parts due to lack of parts availability (and cost). Often times repairs are simply done by tying things together with old rubber inner tubes.

It was an informative show about that road if you get a chance to catch it, I don't know what it was called though.

Are you sure that is a road and not an old Inca goat path.

King Kong lives on top of that hill and he is often seen tossing trucks off the road.

The name of the show was "Death road" and it was on the History channel. TiVo it if you can. I give this show 10 thumbs up.

I nearlly got vertigo and fell off my sofa watching it. And that was on my old 27" low-fi T.V. It'd be absolutely hideous on a larger, better T.V.

Maybe a CAM meeting could be arranged and we can see who's got the biggest set... Just a thought... Rally racing "Death Road" with a bunch of MMs sound pretty sick.

That would certainly add to the rarity of the remaining Marauders....

If you witnessed the CAM U-turn maneuver up at Camp David back about 16 months ago, you would know that this would not be a good idea. Of course, we could let Mike lead the rally. He'd be sure to find all the narrow spots .... or maybe just the first one. :D

I was living in La Paz in 1990 and traveled that road many times because you could go from high altitude La Paz (13k ft) to Las Jungas, a warmer area in the Amazon basin, in about a one hour drive. I had a K5 Blazer back then and we actually used to haul ass for the most part on that road. Of course, when you are younger, you do stupid stuff like that.
