If the panther platform was being discontinued, would you buy one just before they disappear?

I would!....body on frame, V8, rear wheel drive, safe (safer than most), easy to work on (good amount of space), last a long time (I've been lucky).......

I voted YES although maybe not brand new. These cars take a big depreciation hit and end up dirt cheap within a year of being brand new.

Same reasons though, I think they're safe, and versatile.

I would like to start a collection of them.

I answered no but for the same reason as Breadfan. I wouldn't buy one new, but I WOULD buy one off lease or next to new from an old guy or something.

I would either buy another Marauder or a Ford crown vic LX. I do like the LX's.

I'd look at getting one of the last Lincoln Town Cars - used, of course. I like them. :) Would look for the extended chassis version with the extra rear leg room!

Does the Panther Platform come in a truck version? Of course not, so I wouldn't buy another car. I need a truck like an F-150. That would do nicely.

The only other 2 fords i'd buy would be a Cv( allways liked the look of them) or a Mustang(Trilogized).:burn:I voted yes but not new.

If I was to buy another Panther it would have to be another Marauder. I really plan on keeping my car so I won't have to be the typical old guy that shows up at a car show and points out a car he had when he was young that he wishes he kept.

The Marauder is everything I love about a car and I dont plan on getting rid of mine unless I come across another Marauder with lesser miles to replace it.

At the risk of Stryers wrath I must say no. Unless there was something special like a Marauder or Kenny Brown Vic. Unless I had a ton and I do mean a ton of money I would go for one of the many many Mustangs I hope to attain one day. The only possible exception for this would be if I got THE last one. Then it has some collectibility and I would make it an LX sport.

The ultimate Panther is the Marauder, I have one and they don't seem inclined to make more.
The only last Panther I would consider is a Sport.
Don't think I'd be happy with a column shift...

Maraudrmarc, a real question.... why a trilogy over the vortech ? The vortech is better adapted to mid to upper range as the trilogy is better at bottom end to move bigger vehicles off the line. A Mustang would be better suited to a vortech because of the lighter weight coefficient. I am an owner of a vortech but am not here to pee on anyone's ideas.... I am just so glad to have a forum to ask the questions. I am looking at a new F150 & supercharging it , in this application I would really consider the Trilogy package due to the rev range of the engine....below 5200 RPM. Best Regards, Kennyrauder.

I'd like to get one of the TownCar "L"s and dress it up in Marauder attire - rims, engine, suspension and rubber. That would be one cool ride to the airport.

I have 2 MM and thats exactly what I was thinking as my daily driver MM will be about wore out then.

Don't know yet if it's true but I have heard that the CV is already going out the door. It will just be sold for fleet use only. Anyone else heard that?

I've heard that's happening in Canada, but the GM and the Town Car will continue. Haven't personally heard anything of it happening here...

Personally, while I do like the big body-on-frame cars, I *might* consider a CVLX sport, but not even sure there... If they still made the Marauder of course I'd buy another...but unfortunately...

Only if it was another Marauder, otherwise no.

I doubt anything less than a 500 hp Panther with heated buckets, will do!

Since none of the a** hole Ford dealers will sell me a GT500 for less than 15 over sticker--and, "oh yeah, you gotta wait a year"--I guess I'll have to look for a panther equivilant when it's time to replace the MM. I hope that's a long time in the future, though.
