The Lime green-Kermit Marauder was hideous...That RED Marauder is interesting.
Although it is not for me, I like seeing different colored Marauders...White, Dove Grey, and Red are all neat.
I'd like to see a Dark Metallic Green Marauder and a Dark Charcoal Metallic Marauder.

Yeah, dark charcoal would be cool, the dark green would be interesting too, I liked that gun metal gray marauder that was in the photo gallery.. I think that would have been a really nice 5th color.
Anyone else notice the florida rebuilt title footnote? and they offer free shipping?

Yeah, and apparently that paint job cost seven grand. Looks more like a Maaco 400 dollar color to me. The exhaust tips look different from stock too.

The seven grand probably included the body work necessary to salvage it from the wreck (hence the "rebuilt title" it has).
I wonder if it still has functioning safety airbags. I doubt it.

Good eye! I didn't notice that at first, but you're right!
Not to mention the fact that it's illegal in all 50 states to have the entire windshield tinted.

I've been wondering what a bright red Marauder would look like. Now I have my answer: not good. I think these cars are too big and/or the wrong shape to take well to that color.
I still think it would be interesting to see a Marauder in a dark metallic blue (much darker than the blue '03s) or a dark metallic gray. But the only two custom colors I've seen--this red one and the dove gray one posted a while back--I'm not very fond of.

Those are rolled tips, so my guess is they just cleaned the first few inches off. I think a Laser Red, Crimson Red, or Redfire would be a better looking red for this car. I also want to see one pop up in a Dark Highland Green.
Grey is a great color for a Marauder:

The funny thing is... if Ford HAD made a Marauder that color instead of the DTR, there'd be plenty of people here who'd have them, and you'd all be trashing some dude right now who painted one Marauder DTR.
We're just used to what we've seen, so other things look out of place.

I doubt it's a Maaco job. Clearly the weather stripping, door sills, and door panels were removed for a complete color change. I would have this car in this color, however, I would go further by adding some sort of graphics to break up the sea of red. It's too bright to be the WHOLE car, especially a car as big as ours.
I am suspicious of it's true marauderness. Does it still have the 4.6 DOHC? No pic, no description. And don't you think they'd be proud to show photos of that $5K stereo system they speak of? Hmm?
As the resident 'painted' Marauder, I like it as a starting point....

You're right about the car being wrecked. For the heck of it, I had RoyLPita run an OASIS report for the VIN. Results:
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/<o:p></o:p>
Here is the OASIS report for the VIN stated above:
Build date:8/27/03
Wty start date:10/17/03
ALL WARRANTY CANCELLED; TITLE BRANDED(CODE T1)
vehicle has no recalls or CA emissions
OASIS shows no Ford extended or maintenance policies for this MM
No warranty repair history
Vehicle used to be DTR.

The official name was Dark Highland Green (DHG) In 68 it was just Highland Green.

I think if he spent 5k on that he should go have a good cry, but then again I don't know anything about sound systems. But I would expect a 5k system to look clean

To my eye, the tires/wheels don't look right with that color. Also, the Light Flint interior is a poor mix IMHO. That it was wrecked to the extent it needs a "funny" title, and shopping different states to get one, would cool my enthusiasm for the car. Dunno who said it, but I agree with the "sea of red" observation. :(

It says it has a factory sunroof, but was built on August 27,2003. I always understood only the last couple of months production in 2004 had the option of a sunroof.
Many of the panels don't line up correctly, such as the hood, the drivers door to the rear door, and the top, rear of the front and rear door look like they are sticking out. The door latches were not masked. And the consol looks like milk was used to clean it.
BTW it was originally sold in Michigan and was Dark Toreador Red. That new paint looks like Viper Red.
