Would be interesting to know if any of the cars were aligned to regular australian specs and the travel stops adjusted incorrectly... The only time contact would be made is in a tight turn and should be notieceable to a seasoned driver.. I know when I put P255-60 R 16s on my PI in place of the 225s, I could feel the rubbing on the sidewall in my steering wheel...

Now that isn't good... I had a front tire blow at highway speed once long ago.... took me a week to pull the seat of my pants back outta my woohoo.

That happened to me when I was 19 and driving a 68 Ford wagon. I understand why the cleanup took so long. The car was going 90 and the tire ripped the steel fender liner up like it was tin foil. Glad my folks never new the whole story on that one.
